    Generator test adaptor? generator testing?

Also, does the park brake, obviously not the hand brake on the floor, but the switch on the dash, use voltage while its on and just sitting there?

    Generator test adaptor? generator testing?

So I believe that I am having an issue with either my generator, generator harness, or regulator. the gauge is constantly on left side of the yellow section and will occasionally be in the yellow section. I just replaced the batteries (3 weeks ago) with 2 deep cycle/ rv batteries. they were at...

    Lifting a M135 / M211?

lol just like any lift done correctly, its a lot of work. what modifications would be required for the Hemmt rims to fit the deuce? I don't plan on going too crazy with mods on this truck. I looked at doing a crew cab out of mine also, but I figure any truck built in 1951 with no rust on the...

    Lifting a M135 / M211?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WkQnpPka0Y I did some searching through the old posts and haven't found anything on this topic. If the link above works, does anyone know what they did to that deuce? its clearly a lot higher than the "stock" trucks and what size are those tires. I understand...

    Generator no charge/ no lights

Well I apologize for absence on this thread. I figured out that the whole truck is still wired for 24v. I ordered 24v bulbs for the truck and haven't had any issues since I wired in a new push pull switch for all the lights. turns out something was cooked on the old switch as well as poor wiring...

    New to the Deuce world

Thanks everyone. Thanks hendersond for the info! I definitely am trying to get my hands on a hard top! As for the roof. this one was gone, which is fine in the summer, so I threw that together out of some wood I have in the shop. its not permanent but works for keeping the weather out. I have a...

    New to the Deuce world

thanks for the replies. ill get a few pictures up here soon, its been a 12hour work day week. This truck came from a friend of mine via the forestry service. it was used to control wild fires. the cab is in great shape but the bed had a water buffalo in it so its pretty rotten. The motor has got...

    Generator no charge/ no lights

I swapped out a bulb the other day, I didn't really think about it but I ran the numbers on the bulb and it is a GE 1683, which is a 24v bulb. is it possible the lights are still all 24v and they just wired in the push pull? I was told to "de-mil" these trucks a lot of times they cut the wires...

    Generator no charge/ no lights

Where would be a good place to tap in a power converter? is there any good guides for converting the entire truck to 12v? This is my first truck of this nature so its all a learning process for me. I love the truck just need to work out a couple issues here.

    Generator no charge/ no lights

also. ive shot the switch with the multi-meter a couple times to be sure, but I have only one hot wire in and it comes off the battery to the switch, but all the others appear to be grounds. any ideas on that? ill have to re-wire the cannon plug for the multi-switch which isn't a huge deal (I...

    Generator no charge/ no lights

so if they tapped the 12v was the forestry service replacing batteries all the time? I don't mind hooking all the 24v back in but would like a 12v system to run lights later as I plan the light this thing up like the moon later and be able to hide things like chargers sockets under the dash.

    Generator no charge/ no lights

These are the old batteries installed. I put the new heavy duty deep cycles in and the charging system came online just fine. the needle on the gauge sat right at the yellow/green line and with a bit of a rev, sat about 2 needle widths into the green. the yellow battery I had in there was weak...

    Generator no charge/ no lights

its been a couple days because of an awesome (not really) early snow storm here as well as loosing 2nd gear in my Dodge/cummins transmission. I went and grabbed 2 new rv/marine heavy duty deep cycle batteries today. I had to do an exhaust system on a dodge/cummins this morning so didn't get a...

    Generator no charge/ no lights

ill post a pic as soon as I can. the generator unit is still the original unit. when I started it today it was running fine. I was reading about 12v on the battery then it died. the whole truck. no juice, not even enough to turn over the starter. it almost acts like its running off the batteries...
