Good luck finding a deuce, I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything else. You will find that they are awesome for local camping and exploration but they don't make good long range vehicles. There is a reason you see them riding on flatbeds on the interstate.

Extremely high compression (~27:1) and extra attention paid to the fuel atomization/spray pattern help to burn different fuels. There is also a fuel density compensator to help with the air/fuel ratio. There is probably also some secret magic voodoo mixed in somewhere.:twisted:

There is a good thread from sasquatch santa where he has 2 oil pan heaters on a truck. You can't use a salamander or a torch if you have them but you shouldn't need to if electricity is nearby.

My truck had one from the military but the solar panel was missing. Looked around for just the panel but it was cheaper to buy the whole unit new on e-gay. $40 new in box.

I have a magnetic heater that gets mixed results. Fine on my jeeps and ok on the deuce if it's not too cold. If it is real cold or windy the magnetic heater just doesn't cut it. It gets hot enough that you can't touch it but with the huge oil capacity on the deuce you probably need 2 or 3. I...

They have a big bucket of them at the Pilot truck stop here. Any truck stop should do.

A "newer" 600 would start around $5000 and go all the way up to a "NEW" 800 at $10,000. I would be happy to trade my running deuce w/w for $7000 worth of snowmobile. I would then sell the sled and buy 3 more deuces from GL. Don't buy it! For less $ than a 600 sled you can buy a nice deuce...

We need pics:!: I am very interested in this mod. I just installed a winter front and have a heater mounted in the cab. The heat output still isn't what it needs to be. It's allready real cold in wyoming and there is more snow on the way.

If your jeep only weighs 4k then your deuce will easily haul it OFF ROAD! You won't even need to unload untill the trail gets real nasty. :twisted:

I drive mine on the weekends and to work once a week. It's too much fun not to drive as much as possible. My wife and I fit an entire cart of groceries under the passenger seat.
