Problem solved, I re-assembled the broken spring on a piece of steel rod and took a "best guess" measurement, bought a spring and cut to length, pump now works.
I'm in Australia so the NSN isn't all that helpful, and postage on one spring would be prohibitive. I'm sure I can get a spring locally, I just need to know the correct length.
Hi all,
I investigated the worn out input bearing on my transfer case today, the bearing is damaged due to lack of lubrication. I pulled the t/c oil pump and found it non functional due to a damaged spring. Can someone tell me the correct free length of the spring so I can source another one...
Many thanks for your help but I'm slightly confused now,(I'm only a very new goat owner). When I pulled the hubs the inner and outer bearing seals were the same part, the outer having an interference fit spacer ring. The above numbers suggest they are actually supposed to be different for back...
I need some help finding seals, or useable part numbers for the wheel bearing seals and the seal for the axle through the hub. My local bearing places have tried to match them with no success. I need the full 12 bearing seals and 6 axle seals. Can anyone help me out?
Can someone please confirm or deny for me that the correct oil for the gearbox, transfer case and diffs is just plain 80/90 gear oil?
Also, how are the Uni joints greased, no way to get a grease gun onto the nipples.
Thanks.
Well, my first day of goat whispering didn't go well. The brakes were dragging badly when I collected it, suspect due to rust in the drums. I jacked the goat up to back the brakes off and get it rolling properly and found the centre drivers side wheel loose. I pulled the drum only to have a heap...
Tyres and wheels can be shipped! I'm willing to any shipping costs for a good set, in fact I'll have no choice I suspect. Shipping from England would be cheaper than from the states I suspect. I'm willing to look into it further if you are.
The goat just squeezes in under the 6m length and 2.1m height requirements (at least that's what I told them) so they classed it as a 4wd, total cost of the crossing was only a bit over $300 including bunk.
Whereabouts in Aus are you?
Echuca is a great place to live, I'm going to enjoy running th boat around the river tracks, and maybe the river itself.
I kept transport port costs to a minimum by going over there and collecting it myself. The seller had a flatbed and dropped it at the shipping terminal for me. I drove it on...
It's been an exciting few weeks for goats in Aus with two changing hands and another "lost" one being located. Considering there is only half a dozen or so in the country that's fairly significant.
I bought and collected my my new goat this week from Tasmania which involved a flight, a drive...
I got mine from Tassie, should be here in about a week and a half, it's coming to my place at Echuca. Mine is all original.
I know the bloke who did your conversion, if you'd like to speak to him PM me and I'll give you his number.
Are you military or fly in/fly out?
