Looking for MV collectors around Clarksville or LBL area.

Hey Tigger, I'll be driving through the tri-cities this Friday and Saturday to go see Maddawg308 in Virginia about a truck. 10 hours each way is gonna make for a long 2 days. How's your family member doing (sister was it) That got hit? My father is retired hwy patrol I remember my mother...

I think there is something wrong with my 923A1 fuel pump....

Glad to hear you found it. That leaves promise for me finding my idle problem. Thanks for posting the solution, it will come in handy for those who use the search feature.

Bought First m923A2 from GovLiquidation Today!!

You did good especially for a running driving truck. Not sure of this facility, but would be curious if the fluids are drained. Being a MRMO facility I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the fluids. Either way its listed as a runner, your parts and steel are worth more than what you paid...

Bought First m923A2 from GovLiquidation Today!!

Call the local GL office and ask. Theres a good chance you can. I've done three times from three different bases.

I think there is something wrong with my 923A1 fuel pump....

Dang is right, was hoping it was that simple for you. When your plunger picks up fuel, does it get too stiff to pump after the 20 or so pumps? My truck with the fuel problem will just keep pumping, always has air mixed with the fuel.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Did it stop you or did you run out of track? I watched another 923 truck pull in high and he ran out of gear to keep it moving.

    Some GL questions

I've recovered three trucks from GL so far; 923, 925 and 929. The shortest drive was 400 miles the longest 787miles. 400 miles is a long day at 55 or 60MPH (super singles). I had a chase car each time to spot trouble and haul tools. I must say the time I spent inspecting the truck, topping...

Looking for MV collectors around Clarksville or LBL area.

Hi Al, I'm in Murfreesboro and I know of a few near the base. Mostly CUCV guys though, last I spoke with one of them there were no other vehicle types so I wouldn't exactly say collectors since these trucks were being driven. There are more out there, I've reached out but these TN guys can...

I think there is something wrong with my 923A1 fuel pump....

From a cold start does your plunger prime right up or can you pump it in an out repeatedly? My other truck does not have the surge issue and it can sit for weeks and the plunger takes 1/2 stroke and the fuel line is full. I say all this to show the difference between my truck with the surge...

I think there is something wrong with my 923A1 fuel pump....

Same surging issue here, mine will hold good idle for a few seconds after driving just like you mention. Also, my truck is loosing prime when it sits for an hour or longer. The plunger barely draws fuel too. Got to find the air leak. Pump on my truck looks brand new so I don't think that's...

Wreckerman and son go to Tank Town USA

My 2 boys are a little young to appreciate this, however my 5 year old would appreciate the car crushing. Thanks for sharing, may have to make that father son trip myself one day soon.

How come 20+ old vehicles have almost no rust???

I agree with Warthog, I've got two 1986 trucks and one is clean, the other has cancer all over the bed and on select parts of the cab. Still less rust than most commercial vehicles, especially considering these things leak rain water like a strainer.

M928A2 Pick up in Indianapolis, IN // Possible drive or transport to Appleton, WI

If you search Indianapolis inspection on this website and you will find a guy by the name of Bob. A few members have used his service including myself. I believe he can store the truck for you. His inspection fee was very affordable, an older gentleman I suspect he's still operating on 1970...

    Over heating on deuce

Re: Over heatimg on duece I'm just another layman but I have to agree with Welldigger, my nhc250 hates even cool weather. It runs like a top after its been heated up for 30 minutes or longer. I couldn't imagine running it without a thermostat unless I lived in Miami maybe.

M923 upgrade to M925 need advice

Well if the military does it then I have no problem doing it. I wonder if I can find a blank data plate for an M925 and stamp my trucks serial # on it so everything matches. My truck is registered as a cargo truck so as long as my registration serial # is the same my local county wouldn't...

M923 upgrade to M925 need advice

Your lucky to have the parts you have. A full winch kit is hard to find and very expensive to piece together. I have a good M923A1 so I picked up a non running slightly rusted 925 on GL that turned out to be a runner. I'm moving the winch to my good truck and then selling the parts truck(runs...
