How NOT to drive a HMMWV.

Those wheels are much too wide. The fronts kept binding up and hitting the hood. I can almost guarantee that the drivetrain had additional stress as a result. I think the driver would've been in much better shape if he'd have followed the existing trail rather than breaking new trail.

Adding two-stroke oil for lubricity - this study says NO.

I'll stick with the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' philosophy. I don't add anything to the fuel tank on my M1009. The engine runs fantastic on ULSD. I wonder if your above quote is specifically related to vehicles designed for ULSD, DEF, and the other pollution control/emissions additions.

    If I was an electron.....

My 1930 Model A is 6 volt positive ground. I have the hand crank in the trunk, which I can use in case of emergency. I prefer not to have that type of problem, though. If you hand crank an A engine the wrong way you run the risk of breaking your arm, wrist, thumb, shoulder, or elbow. :shock...

    Springs

I've talked to many Marines that have never seen a Mite before. There's nothing else like them anywhere. I guess that may explain why no one understands them. Can you please post a bunch of picture of your M422A1? I'd love to see it!!! :-)

    Springs

My 2cents + tax, for whatever it's worth. If your A1 has enough parts to restore original, please put your time and energy into bringing it back to its former glory. Paint it up to honor your unit. :-) There are so few running and driving Mites in the world. My wild guess is that there's a...

Sat 11/11/17 Downtown Orlando FL: Orlando Veterans Day Parade

I think we are the only group that is staging at Ace Cafe. I'm pretty sure the restaurant is closed during the parade. Ace Cafe has an entry in the parade as well. They are lineup #40. They are lining up on Orange Ave just south of Livingston.

    Tire Question

I have Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 31 x 10.5 x 15's on my M1009. I've never had a problem with the tires rubbing. Your leaf springs may be the cause of your clearance issue. They're probably flattened out, which lowers the height of the body above the axles.
