    TNriverjet's M-1083 Thread

A quick calculation led me to discover that the wheels on your truck weigh roughly 2500 lbs including the spare. My wife's Mighty Mite weighs 1700 lbs. :-)

Replacing those tires looks like a heck of a job!! I guess it gets easier after the first one. How much does each wheel weigh?

    What are you guys paying?

My 2cents + tax: I see a parts vehicle that's worth about $1500 - $2000. I'd consider buying it if I had the time, energy, money, tools, and shop to work on it. I'd strip it, keep the parts I want, and sell the rest.

Found the M1009 I want! NO TITLE. Shipping to AR. Not sure how to begin.

I remembered something else. Never trust the odometer or the hour gauge on any military vehicle. Speedometers/odometers and hour gauges were swapped at will. If one broke in a truck, the motor pool replaced it with a known good used one.

I modified my original post to accommodate the change in lunch venue.

Found the M1009 I want! NO TITLE. Shipping to AR. Not sure how to begin.

For what it's worth, I've bought many vehicles site unseen. Every time I've done it, I spent days/weeks holding my breath. I made out okay every time (thankfully). I will never ever do it again. If I ever buy another vehicle I'll make the time and make the drive to inspect it. From now on I want...

If the food is good, then let's move our lunch plans to Ace Cafe. :-) Can you nail down the plans for that and let me know? I will update my first post with the change in lunch venue!!!

Feel free to bring the M105 if you'd like. I'll let you decide. We have plenty of room in the lineup. :-)

Sat 11/11/17 Downtown Orlando FL: Orlando Veterans Day Parade

Please join me for the Orlando Veterans Day Parade on Saturday November 11, 2017. The parade is televised live on Bright House News Channel 13. The parade starts at 11 AM. Last year, the parade began at the corner of Orange Ave and Robinson Street. I assume the starting location will be the same...

Paradox by Design CUCV HMMWV cooling kit

You've done a phenomenal job documenting the installation. :-) :goodjob: 9,000 feet up. 10% grade over 6 miles. WOW!!!! Most of Florida is as flat as a pancake. I live about 90 feet above sea level. I can't imagine being as high up as you are!!! Someday I will visit Bighorn. I'd love...

    Spinning Antenna Mount Bolt

Could you wedge a screwdriver between the mount and the body and push the antenna mount out? A little pressure might give you a bit more bite on the threads inside the riv nuts.

    1985 Chevrolet CUCV M1028

I have one more meager observation. Those tires are VERY aggressive. They will be insanely LOUD at 55 MPH !!!!! CUCV's are loud enough! I wonder if the owner is planning on installing a kicker stereo with a 1000 watt amp to drown out the droning tires and the rattle of the 6.2 L. If he does...

    M1009 Warn premium hubs

This is great information! Thanks for posting it, Bighorn! :-) Moderators: Could you please add these part numbers to the CUCV Helpful Threads Sticky? If not there, could you please move the information to the FAQ Thread?

    1985 Chevrolet CUCV M1028

$3500 for a lift kit, rims and tires!!! WOW, and no thanks! If it were me and I had that much to blow on that upgrade, I still wouldn't spend it! I'd pay my mortgage down, throw that cash towards my 401K, toss it on the loan I have on my Dodge, or put a down payment on a nice travel trailer. I'm...

    MEPs and Hurricane Irma

Take a look at CUCV's. Tell her that they are: easy to get help repairing it or diagnosing issues with it (thank you, Steel Soldiers :-)) easy to drive relatively easy to maintain easy to park in crowded parking lots relatively easy to find parts for relatively inexpensive easy to buy tires...

    Yep, another FNG post.

I agree with twisted60. His 5 ton is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! It has power steering and is an automatic. Features that 5 ton's have that Deuces don't: more leg room higher ground clearance more cargo capacity production dates are more recent There's probably a bunch more I can add to...
