My M880 with Humvee tires

Desert Rat, I don't think he's open on the weekends. We went by there on a saturday afternoon and he wasn't at the yard. We had to call him at his house and ask if we could go in and look around. If ya need something I could see if he has it. He mainly has 6x6 stuff.

    My M880 with Humvee tires

Desert Rat, That's nice to know that they were well thought of. I think that non turbo charged diesel hurt the M1009's and M1028's. McGuyver, I used actual Military shackles that have holes 1" in dia, the same size as the tow bar bracket holes. I bought 1" dia pins, slid them right through the...

    My M880 with Humvee tires

Well I guess i'll have to call myself a copy cat!! I put a set of Military shackles on the tow bar adapters like McGuyver did. I think it looks way cool. Is there anybody on this site that was actually in the Army at the time the M880 series trucks were in use?? Was just curious what the...

    My M880 with Humvee tires

McGuyver, Did the Military have a tow bar that hooked up to the tow brackets?? If so, what did they tow them with, and why?? Larry......

    My M880 with Humvee tires

McGuyver, What size are the Humvee tires?? Looks like you have enough room with your lift. Try'em out see what happens. Dilvoy, what do you mean by the "tow bracket kit"?? I just assumed that all of the M880 series trucks had the tow hooks and shackles. My M882 has them both also. Larry.....

    Suspension lift

McGuyver, The CV joint is one of the problems that we had. Unfortunatly I've had my experience with them. Your right, their a pain in the butt! One thing we didn't do on the Ramcharger is "clearance" the CV joint like you said. I would be afraid that by grinding on it, it would make it more...

    Suspension lift

McGuyver, Your M880 has a 4" suspension lift right? How is your drive line angles, and did you have to wedge any of the axles to decrease the angles? My parents had a 78 Ramcharger that we put a lift on (around 6") with 36-14.5 tires. We had a lot of U-joint problems until we wedged the axles...

    My 77 M882

McGuyver, They removed the antenna mounts and filled the holes on the outsides of the bed when they painted it, the inner holes are still there. The blackout lights work. The right rear BO light lense is missing. Looks like they must of hit it with something and broke it off, I'll try to find a...

    My 77 M882

Finally was able to get some pictures taken of the beast. Pardon the red paint, it was used by a Fire Dept. Plan on repainting her in the spring. Image Insert: 51.39KB...

    New to forum

Thanks for all the info. Looks like the camo repainting is going to be time consuming. However, I think it will look much better than the fire engine red it is now. As far as the sale went. There were 15 of the M880 variants there. The highest one went for $1200 and it was near perfect. It had...

    New to forum

Hello everyone!! New to the site and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. On 11/02/04 I purchased a M882 from a GSA auction. I had been wanting one for a long, long time. I had been doing alot of research on these vehicles and since I'm a MOPAR guy anyway it was just a shoe in for me. The...
