I just put a ring and pinion in my M916. Everything was standard over the counter parts, my buddy who did the rear told me afterwards I could have gotten different ratios.
The light switch on my M916 was getting hot and popping the breaker. I wired the switch so it powered a relay for the headlights instead of the headlights themselves. Works great. I'm wondering what the military did all these years ?
I've owned / driven a bunch of M939's. Only 2 trucks shook , both had goodyears, 1 had 14's the other had 16's. The truck with the 16.00's drove smooth as glass till I converted it from duals to singles . They seem to be flimsy compared to the Michelins.
The Fass system does work. I know of 5 different trucks that use it, and all are VERY happy with it. The over the road guys say they get better mileage ,the engine runs smoother and makes more power...not crazy power but it is a noticable difference. The local guys say the truck is much...
I guess I shouldnt bet lol Im not sure if they weigh the trucks with full fuel tanks ,tools etc. It all adds up. I was surprised how heavy a canvas and bows were.
I have to pick up 2 trucks a m931a2 and a m923a2. I need to be less than 40,000 lbs to be legal, its close... no bows or tarps ,less than 1/2 tank of fuel and no top on the m931.
Ive mounted at least 50 14-1600's and never had a problem seating the beads. Today one of my 1600's went flat and popped off the bead. That tire broke my @#% it just wouldnt seat. I try not to use starting fluid, so today i used a 21 inch motorcycle tube. I put the tube between the rim and...
Its fine to run the truck like that. I didnt like the high idle so i only went 2 click on the gov springs.... idles around 725 or so. When the idle is too high it slams into gear then it tries to hold the high idle and pushes the truck too much. Slamming into reverse on a m939 makes me worry...
