Tips for Slant back install on a 998?

I know this is an old thread, but having done through this process, I'm trying to add some info that might save another from going through the same thing as I did. The OP mentions the windshield glass retainers as being different and one of the responses is they are all the same. They are NOT...

    Windshield retainer question

Already ordered the most affordable (cheapest_ retainers I could find and the center one arrived yesterday. I have yet to actually line up the holes, but initially feels like the small holes drilled into the retainer and the larger rimnuts in the windshield will either line up or awfully close...

    X DOORS

One option on doors that we are pursuing are the tactical half x doors made by Federal Military in Cannon Falls, MN. I looked at the fiberglass doors from West kentucky and the price plus strikers, hinges, etc. and it was an affordable option to OE X doors, but still sticker shock. So, I went...

    Help ID tray. Ammo?

And, sure enough, four well nuts on the floor and a footman loop and strap on the floor and a footman loop on the top edge of the wheelhouse for the strap to clip onto. Located just forward of the jerry can holder. No footman loop and strap for the jerry cans, but holes where they were...

    Help ID tray. Ammo?

Now that I know what to look for, I'm gonna go out and look for holes and footman loops. The jerry can holders have just a metal strap bolted to the side of the rear wheelhouse to hold a strap, but the jerry can holders themselves are slotted for straps and clips.

    Help ID tray. Ammo?

Thank you for this. Interesting as this M1151 has two jerry can mounts on each side of the inner tub with drain hose through the tub. But now this one water can bracket and no straps that I know of and no strap attachment points onto this carrier. So, any pics of this carrier installed so I...

What mounts on bottom side of top of snub nose?

Thank you very much. Now, to look for the needed parts to go back in the holes.

What mounts on bottom side of top of snub nose?

Here are the holes in question. Two "sets" of three holes, one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side and one randem hole approximate in the middle. The bevel is on top, so maybe wire clip holders with the wire clip being on the underneath side?

What mounts on bottom side of top of snub nose?

Believe me, guys, I try to look this stuff up in the manual, but when the Humvee you get is missing a lot of parts, I have trouble determining what is missing. On the M1151 snub nose hood/grill, there are seven beveled holes on the top flat surface, three each in a tringle pattern and one in...

    Help ID tray. Ammo?

Another loose tray that came in my recent M1151 Gov Planet purchase. Approximately 14" long and 10" wide, one side is taller than the other, but both opposite ends are the same height. Rubber on all raised sides to prevent or grip something and small risers on bottom to mount above flat...

    Windshield retainer question

Just following up with game plan. It appears that the correct windshield for the M1151 is the ECV set which has a different bolt hole location for attachment. And, it uses 1/4" bolts due to the weight of them. It would take 5/8" glass and windshield seals although thinner glass may or may not...

Need help ID M1151 interior rack.

Yes, Gov Planet did not detail the Humvee prior to delivery, so plenty of Ft. Benning dirt inside and out. I pulled one of the plastic holders and, yes, not only nipple on bottom, but short rubber drain hose down through bottom of tub. If I install them in my M998 for appearance, I may ot...

Need help ID M1151 interior rack.

As expected, the 40mm amo cans would really fill up the rear. But it would give us some extra storage compartments. Can't find a replica MK19 gernade launcher to go with the ammo cans, though.

Need help ID M1151 interior rack.

No drain hose under either carrier, so presume both for water. Boy, with the slant back closed and two 5 gal. water cans back there, very little room for actual cargo. Interesting note on the 40mm ammo can bracket on the a/c unit. Pulled about 25 empty brass, some live rounds and several...

Need help ID M1151 interior rack.

Looks like the 40mm cans will fit using four of them. 19" long and 6" wide and 10" tall. Off to visit the local Army Navy Surplus store. Thanks for the lead. https://www.amazon.com/PA-120-40mm-Ammo-Can-Ammunition/dp/B006A7L2C2

Need help ID M1151 interior rack.

I tried the NATO .50 cal and they were too small. I had a .20 mm can and it fit perfectly on the length, but two cans let a large gap and three cans would not fit. So, I'll see if I can pick up some .40mm cans. I like that look inside the cab as well. This M1151 also has two jerry can...

Need help ID M1151 interior rack.

Picked up a M1151 for the slant back to put on my M998. I have two antennas on the M998 but no actual radios. I like the look of the dual whip antennas. The M1151 had this rack bolted on top of the a/c unit between the two rear seats. I have no idea if this is a radio rack, ammo can rack or...

    West Kentucky Surplus

So, would you recommend these doors over Federal Military steel X doors? I have not looked at price difference, but getting ready to pull the trigger on FMP tactical split X doors to drive with half doors down here in Atlanta. I have read that all fibreglass doors are imported, do not know who...

    Windshield retainer question

Will these retainers dictate my new glass thickness? It is my understanding the "standard" retainers will work on a glass and seal thickness in the 1/4" range but the armored retainers are for glass that is 5/8" thick glass. I have not seen different seal thicknesses in my limited search, so...

    Windshield retainer question

Picked up a Gov Planet M1151 to put the slant back and windshield on my M998. 1151 windshield has no glass, rubber seal or retainers in it. I need the whole kit, but am getting conflicting information on what retainers I need for the standard thin glass, not balistic. Will the "standard"...
