    Need pic of tail pipe

The Bubba fire department that had my truck did a great job of welding up a civilian exhaust system that will probably out live me, so I hate to cut it all off, but it ends under the truck bed and I'd like to have my local exhaust shop fabricate a tail pipe that would look somewhat stock. I...

What do you call the three inch ring of soft metal b/t exhaust y-pipe and water fording exhaust pipe?

I took my M998 to a local high school for a veterans day event and one of the youth asked me what the stack was for and I replied that that is how the military could tell if it was a male or female Humvee. I don't think he got it. I like the look of both the snorkle and snorter, but it does...

M998 6.2 roller coaster idle issue

I have only been checking this at idle, usually while I am working on something else on the Humvee body. I will try some additional throttle and see what it does and also unplug the suggested lead. I have taken a video of the current situation and will post it on Utube with a link here. Thanks...

M998 6.2 roller coaster idle issue

Recently acquired M998, so no history to refer to and forum search does not reveal exactly this isse I am having. Smart Start system works and after engine start engine idles smooth. But, after a frew minutes the idle increases and then settles back down, increases then settle back down. Not...

What got cut out of my M998?

Thanks, but, no. I have parts Humvees all throughout the property. My son thought some sort of part or fitting got cut out and we searched the bone yard and nothing was ever attached there in any of the other Humvees. So the access cut out makes perfect sense.

    Anyone install seat belts?

Sounds great. I have a tote of military NOS seat belts for Mutts and Humvees that I was hoping to use if I have to. But I've seen other just put the least expensive belts in their rig to pass an inspection or keep Momma happy. If I'm gonna do it, I'd like to do it right. This might be an...

    Anyone install seat belts?

If I'm reading my GA statutes correctly, all vehicles on state roads built after 1954 must have turn signals and vehicles built after 1965 must have seat belts. So, my Kaiser M715 built in 1967 should have both. It has the military wiring and turn signals, but no seat belts. Nor any...

How to replace just heater core?

I had another thread started on bypassingthe heater core due to a leaking one. I had to change direction on that and now have a week or so to do it a little more correct. I have a parts M998 that I hope the heater core is solid and want to just swap out the two heater cores. I have found all...

What got cut out of my M998?

The captive nuts on the door hinge were replaced with "normal" nuts, so I believe that Bubba broke off a captive nut or two and cut his way into the recess to remove door hinge.

    Quick heater question

In a bit of a panic with this M998. Have an event in two days that is a short drive away. On a test drive today, running the heater and getting anti freeze on the passenger floor, so heater core is bad. Long term I can replace heater core but it aint' gonna happen tomorrow. If I leave all...

Need help ID tail light bracket.

Came in a lot of Humvee parts and i know this is not Humvee. Estate also had 2 2/3 t and 5 t trucks and the trailer forum suggested the "service" tag indicated air brakes. So here I am. Only one, drivers side and 24v four wire packard connectors. Don't need this thing and want to pass it...

Help ID tail light bracket. Trailer?

OK, thanks for the lead. I'll post something up on the truck forum. Maybe a dump? Something that needs the tail light out on an outrigger?

Help ID tail light bracket. Trailer?

This came in a lot of take off Humvee parts, and presume it has nothing to do with a Humnvee. What little I have worked on WWII trailer, they usually had a bracket similar to this to hang a tail light from. So guessing modernish trailer. Service tag riveted to bracket but no other data. 24 v...

What got cut out of my M998?

Noticed this nicely cut out section of the drivers pillar that is intact on my other M998's. Any idea what was in that location that the military or Bubba felt the need to cut out prior to transfer to me?

    Need hood reg. number

Thank you for that. Off to order stencils and paint masks from Team Delta. I've come up with some unit numbers that were MP unit at Ft. Rucker in AL where this M998 was obtained.

    Help ID sheathed cable.

I bounced it off two vendors as well and neither can ID, so to the back burner for now. This estate auction also had 2 1/2 ton and 5 ton trucks, so it could be anything. Thanks for looking.
