maybe you need to send me one of your k8 so we can verify your heater isnt eating them. is your hour meter disconnected? if not, unplug it and the rectifier

There is such thing as bad new parts, and these are NOS so there is a higher chance of getting nonfunctional parts. If you have the funds available, I would order another new K8, but I would send the seller a pm letting him know that the first one was bad. He might offer a better deal on the...

I didnt find any way to get in the k8 relay, its a throw away.

Since it ran for a couple hours, I would check the flame sensor for correct adjustment, then clean the filter. I sure might be interested in a brass adapter to have as a spare. I would look at the rectifier to see that it has all 4 wires, the 2 wires on the back of the hour meter have plastic...

Somehow I missed this Issac, I am assuming you are talking about an H81?

I had a buddy build a couple for his h140’s, if someone can get dimensions to see if they are the same part that would be very helpful

I had time to install the ‘new’ k8 on a spare heater, it worked as designed so i am at a loss why it didn’t work for yours unless there are other problems. Verify that the spade connectors are not touching, i had issues with them wanting to twist and touch while tightening.

Did you cut the p2 plug off to install the new k8?

I don’t know of any reason the heat side would cause a breaker to trip. The ignitor runs in fan, fuel pump runs in fan, only difference on heat is valve opens for fuel.

Pull the guts and check the ignition gap, and clean out the injector. Also purge your fuel line to the injector while you have the injector loose. And clean the filter

Same problem before the new k8 relay is installed?

Just my uneducated guess, ‘Z’ = red yellow alarm wire. I ordered the same relay you did, but have not installed. What fuse does it blow? Do you mean the internal thermal relay? Also have you checked the alignment of the flame sensor. One of mine, the rubber boot is funky, so i had to engineer...

I dont see where I replied about these K8 relays, my little research book notes are as follows Type 668..... 956 type flame detector used type 668().... 60 hz only type 668(h).... 50/60 hz type 668-(401-499)....safety shutoff time 15 seconds (501-599)...

Its past time to start talking about heaters, if you attempt to start your heater, it fires and runs for 20-45 seconds and shuts down with the redlight of death, check the adjustment of the flame sensor. Its not a very skookum setup, looks like heat shrink with a zip tie holding the sensor so it...

If it were me, and I say again, if it were me.... i would set it up outside the shop, have a very large fire extinguisher at the ready and I would give it a go. Worst case scenario you have a flameout when the heat exchanger explodes. I would give it a try, heck I might get you to send me one so...

escobar, I had to put one relay in the freezer over night, then put it in the heater and it worked. It is also the relay that came from the 'red headed step child' heater, so it was our guinea pig. We were so fed up with it not working, we didnt care if it never worked again. We drilled holes...

Its cold outside lets talk Heaters, H81, H82, H83, etc.

Its that time of year for the heaters to come out of hiding and get started so our wives still love us at the end of the day because we are not camped out in our chairs in front of the tv. The easiest fixes to try out on these H81 H82 heaters that I have found from the fault of the red light...
