Picked up M1009 at a local auction

Halftrackkid and I have had an eye on a black M-1009 sitting at a local City maintenance yard. For over a year it sat neglected, gathering dust and spider webs. From what we could gather, the M-1009 had been last used at a local CDC facility as a "CERT" team vehicle. After the State closed the...

    Saved one! 1975 M880

Update: I recently ran across a used Edelbrock "Performer" intake manifold for the 318-360 Mopar ($100 I did not even haggle!!!) at a Antique Farm equipment show. The intake had been bead blasted and all threads checked. A friend had a used Edelbrock carb (1406), in need of a rebuild kit for...

    Over charging help!

I too have been having nothing but trouble with my stock M-880's Dodge alternator/regulator. Not overcharging, but intermittent charging. New (U.S made) regulator, ground strap (was missing) at regulator mounting bolt, cleaned and checked all connections. I am now in the process of installing a...

    New from SoCal

Barstow is about the only GL I know of around here. Locally, the County Fire Dept., City, County Roads etc.. have been sending several CUCV's to local auction. I have my eye on a black M1009 slated for auction. A friend picked up two M-1028's at auction a couple of years ago CHEAP! I was only...

Thanks for all the posts. I'm glad that other people think as much of her as I do. Not much has been happening lately. The A-26's tow bar needed some work. It needed to have the center tube replaced (cracked and dented). Last weekend I replaced the center tube with 1 1/4'' thick wall...

    Dana 60 swap

I ran accross to same problem when I acquired a set of 36" Goodyear OZ's. To fit those tires, I installed a Rancho 4" lift (front springs/rear blocks) and a complete power steering conversion from a 1991 W200 Dodge (used). The 1991 has a different style of steering box. This will require the...

    1944 A-26 in Shafter, Ca

The A-26 needs her annual inspection. Before that begins, the plane's owner needs to purchase two large wing jacks. These jacks will hold the plane off her landing gear, so the landing gear can be cycled. He found a smokin deal on a set of used jacks for $5,000 EACH!

Thanks for the advice pmramsey. Before the next engine runs there will be 3 to 4 CO2 extinguishers available. Don't want a bad situation made worse.

    1944 A-26 in Shafter, Ca

I got to help a friend of mine work on his A-26 this weekend. The A-26's R-2800's have not been started in 6 to 8 months. Saturday the lower 5 spark plugs pulled on both engines, pre oiled both engines, turned them over (with mags off) to clear bottom cylinders. Topped off engine oil and fuel...
