The USMC upgraded their M809 series fleet to 1400 from the 1100s. I have one of those trucks and I did not take it for a long ride before I stripped it down, but it wasn't bad on the 5 mile test runs I did. M813RC has more experience with them then I do.

Nice looking jeep, any photos of your dataplate? The vent on the cowl is standard on any vehicles that have had a heater added. Not an uncommon mod. The marker lights on the side of the body were usually added up by the turn signal, I have not seen any in that spot.

That is what I was afraid of. I looked into an M915A2 but did not think it could mange the speed the M915 w/7155 Cat managed. Any idea if the M915A4s are any better? Do those still have the HT740 (4 speed?) or do they have the Allison 7 Speed?

Sounds like a nice idea, but this would be on an M813 which has a narrower cab then your truck as you know. I don't think it would fit

Has anyone with a Deuce or 5 ton cut down a bench seat to make it into a small jump seat for the middle of the cab? I am planning to put in 2 springer seats and build a center console for my M813A1, but I would like to have the option for the 3rd person. I have a bunch of standard bench seats...

Yes, the poppet remains. The switch simply cuts off air to the poppet.
