    New seat covers

They say pink is very calming. A little Zen thing while you are bouncing down the road. Perhaps the answer to road rage? If you have enough of the old covers you can use them as a pattern. Take them to a auto upholstery place and see what they suggest/offer.

Problem... what problem..... addict..... whoo me?? (another LMTV follows me home)

Coachgeo, looked at the first 2 pictures and thought the mother ship had landed then the third freaked me out as I thought Christinse' s older brother. With all of the issues it is a good thing that you are addicted because a sober man would never get past the to do list. So, needless to...

    CTIS - Almost working

Hi Kemper, How about posting the part # here too and the supplier info as well. The more threads that have this info the more likely searchers will find it. :goodjob: Thanks in advance

Working on diagram of Cat 3116 common failure points

Just to add the TM's are great to have but in my very limited experience difficult to actually dig through to find what is needed. Perhaps it is my actual limited understanding of their lay out but short of printing them and creating a book searching through them on a device is very very slow

Working on diagram of Cat 3116 common failure points

Yes I have downloaded all of them. I have not read all of them as IMO that would in itself be an undertaking I am not prepared for. I may be wrong here but the original poster was looking to find out and create a most likely to fail list for the engine. I think in particular the items that would...

Working on diagram of Cat 3116 common failure points

I think this approach is great. As has been mentioned, there is a great deal of excellent information here. But it is all over the place and requires a long and involved search to find it. I was thinking more along the lines of something like Fuel System, Coolant System, CTIS System, Electrical...

So what's next? I know for you it is ....where should I start? When and if I get mine I think it will be to change all fluids and filters after I swap out the hand pump so I can lift the cab. The auction report says it would not lift so that is my first order of business. Actually I think I...

    Check your starter screws

I have not received my truck yet, still waiting for EUC to finalize. But it looks like these engines vibrate a lot. Partially due to drive shaft imbalance, partially due to engine borne vibration, partially due to tire imbalance, and finally, flying through the air more than it should:jumpin: It...

themeec Thanks for the numbers. Let us know how it works out and what issues you have along the way if any. Sounds like a new thread on what it takes to bring a dead one back to life:)

themeec, If you don't mind my asking where is your LMTV coming from and who is bringing it to you? Did you go through Veritread? (SP) care to share the distance to deliver and the cost? Have you looked into registration? Here in California it is a no go. So I am good with that as I will be...

Cat 3116 lost oil and started knocking

OK before we charge off and make a completely new line perhaps we can/should think about some things. 1) Does anyone know what the oil pressure is in this line? 2) Where is it failing at? Is it in the same place, or all over this tube? 3) Looking at the Face Book post adding in a U at the top...

Have you got your truck yet? I bought one on 9/11/2019. I was told 8-12 weeks for EUC to clear or reject me. If you are still waiting I am bummed as I would like to move along with the project.

    FMTV Air Hydraulic Unit Repair

No Doubt about that. Us Guys here finally figure out the civilian part number(s) and find the mfr of the item needing repair/ rebuild, and the pent up need opens the flood gates and suddenly they are moving a lot more kits. Someone thinks it seems to be a great time to up the price. Oh...

    FMTV Air Hydraulic Unit Repair

I bought this larger more complete kit. The price has gone up. It is close to $100 now. Still worth it IMO. Nice to have the gaskets etc. I have not rebuilt the pump yet as I am waiting for my FMTV to be released to me.

    M1078 Starter Replacement

Coachgeo, That is a great idea. these CAT engines are used a lot in marine (boat) applications. In fact, as you said, there may be other items that could cross over and be of better quality.
