    LMTV Mirror Brackets

Anyone else lacking the the upper and lower mirror brackets? (lower shown below). My truck only came with the driver side mirror assembly, so Im replicating it for the passenger end. Im going to have a set burned out for myself, but I wouldnt mind having more made to dilute the setup cost...

    Door Handle Lever Printed (LMTV)

With how many of these things break, I dont see a reason to reflect on how long a printed version will last. But at least it's not 200 dollars. I didnt have the exactly correct bolt length, but once that gets in, proof testing time in the truck.

Plan to buy a 3D printer

Im not in the habit of it, but I have a friend who set up a printer to print in wax filament. He uses it for jewelry casting. HOWEVER. Polymaker Polycast is something he has used for me before for large parts. I gave him a reel to try out. Its a low ash filament that you can burn out to do...

Thing 1 and Thing 2, Drones before the term "Drone" replaced UAV

If you want it to be specific, "nitro", which is gas and oil. It's just specific to very tiny 2 stroke engines. I never checked but it might just be the same mixture you put in a weed eater but marked up. Its more volatile than diesel for sure. marchplumber is correct about batteries. They...

Civilian Headlight and Keyed Ignition Switches for FMTV/LMTV - Looking for Input

Im interested in this, not because I would make money, but because I want to know what parts fail most often. The entire FMTV is a very clear cut system. Which is to say middle men hop in and profit on 2 way ignorance. That said, I do really like my swirly red start button and really...

Thing 1 and Thing 2, Drones before the term "Drone" replaced UAV

This is sort of an odd thing, but it will probably become more common. Over a decade ago, I was given Thing 1 and Thing 2. They were property of a battle lab, back before the term "Drone" was coined. They are balsa wood, plastic wrapped, remote control airplanes, with the setup for cameras...

    Howdy

Now that I consider it, you could technically take 2 miniature hunting lodges out in one trip, if you take a 1082 trailer, given the beds, with a relatively small amount of work, can be interchanged, given the modular design. That would be quite funny.

    Howdy

Technically, I worked for a Stewart of the same family on fracking trucks, and later for another company on process equipment to mount to the 1078 and 1082. But same thing when it all washes out. The drawings and designs are all congruent.

    Howdy

It came outfitted with LEDs and all. Unfortunately, 3 brand new turret seats. No driver/passenger. Not that I cant make that work

    Howdy

Got an m1078. Have had a 48 willys civilian jeep larping as military since college. Been dealing with S&S as an engineer for years, so familiar with the system. Not to mention the BAE plant where mine was made is down the road. Anyhow, here's my truck. Ugly front. But the only other...

    FMTV custom bed designs

I did design a system for a hydraulically elevated fuel tank for a fracking system once. So that's not totally impractical, aside from not wanting to deal with the outriggers Making a cabin that lifts up about 6 feet though would be quite the neat option, given the bed level is already quite high.

    FMTV custom bed designs

A little over a year ago, I was hired to do contract work to design and engineer a proprietary agricultural process system to be mounted on a 1078 or 1082. I cant share pictures of that because of NDA restrictions. I did keep the truck model though, since they didnt own that. Its very...

Plan to buy a 3D printer

Same, I have a creality ender. I do actually use it for productive reasons, which is to say it can make small plastic replacement parts that are hard to come by.

    FMTV Replacement Door Handle Upgrade

Please advise. I dont mind manufacturing items. I just lack the total shebang.

    FMTV Replacement Door Handle Upgrade

Lots of this is dated. Im a new owner of a 1078, and have a passenger side handle with a broken actuation arm. The problem is it came off the surplus auction lot, so I dont have the broken off portion. If there is a new thread on this, please direct me there. If anyone has a passenger side...
