    M931A1 losing magic smoke...

I always love seeing kids having fun in the trucks. I recently took kids from my sister-in-law's reunion across a few rolling hills, but I made them ride on troop seats. The bucket seats look a lot more comfortable. :)

    M931A1 losing magic smoke...

I'm new to these trucks as well, but sounds like a dead alternator from your description. When my alternator died the voltage regulator was the issue, so it started killing my batteries. I would convert to a 24 volt civilian alternator and see if that fixes all your issues. Several people...

Code violation notice for parking in my driveway

Are they going to make you park it behind the fence, out of public view?

923A2 Alternator assistance in Adamstown MD

I removed the military alternator and put in one off a bulldozer. Works great, but required a spacer for the long bolt and a grove in the mounting bracket to clear shorter alternator. Several options out there. Do a search and you should find a few examples.

    M923 or Deuce?

Depending where you plan to park it, you may want to research city codes if inside city limits. Lots of discussions about people being forced to relocate their truck after a neighbor complains to city.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Just looked this up and it does exempt special interest vehicles in my city if they are out of sight. Thank you very much for noting Special Interest Vehicles. I would have never found this code exception without your help. I previously could only find the RV exemption.

    Lost m1102 grease cap

Here is the cap available at NAPA and the part number on box in picture. The link above is a better match to what was on the trailer before. This one is thinner metal with a lip around the edge, vs the large mushroom looking military cap.

    M923 or Deuce?

The size of the cab is also very different. I'm 6'3" and I have to lean over a bit to see under or around the wipers on my deuce. I'm also overweight and the bottom of the deuce steering wheel is very close. Oh and to have room to get my foot on the pedal, I have to push my left leg into the...

Be safe when working on Your truck.

More of a close call. When I was prepping my M931 A2 at GL I was coming down thinking I was close to the ground (based deuce heights). Luckily I held onto the truck and just slammed into the side of it. Not hurt, just embarrassed. As far as rings go. In my skinnier days, I jumped up to do a...

    Lost m1102 grease cap

I measured 2-5/8th inches and tried several automates shops, but didn't check NAPA yet. I will post a part number if I find one at NAPA and after I test fit it on the hub. Thanks

    Lost m1102 grease cap

Does anyone know where I can pick up a grease cap for a M1102 trailer hub? Not sure how, but lost one on the way home last week.

They tried to kick my truck out of the neighborhood!

Research the regs/laws before engaging. I can't have a m109 due to its weight in my city, but I can have a RV that is twice the size. RV is defined as a vehicle with a kitchen or bathroom or bedroom in it. My solution is to make my m931 and m109 into an rv before I bring it back. Originally...

    Distracted Driving

I run a camera system on the front of my daily driver these days. I have managed to brake and/or avoid multiple bad drivers so far, but it feels good to have video that shows what happened if I can't brake fast enough or avoid the bad driver.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

My brother and I, took kids from his wife's family reunion on a ride across the farm. https://youtu.be/44uI3Fbf8Sk

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I love my deuce, but driving my m931A2 is so much easier and faster.

M1102 GL purchase - can it be towed home without a riser hitch?

I forgot about the jack not coming down low enough to hook up on my old truck. I used a hi-lift jack to assist with lowering and raising it to park it. (My new truck is much taller, so I don't have those issues anymore.) Good catch DeadParrot!

M1102 GL purchase - can it be towed home without a riser hitch?

sorry, edited my last post to add more info about mounting as you were typing yours. Using the steel brackets on the back works well, but you have to secure your cable or it will pull them off in my experience.

M1102 GL purchase - can it be towed home without a riser hitch?

Here are some pictures of it behind my half ton truck with a Northern tools riser and hitch. I now run it level on my 2500 truck. I love these trailers for hauling small stuff. They are light compared to the M105s and are easy to tow if empty. Oh, and there are two steel square tube pieces...
