I'd run with the 11.00's for a while. But eventually you will get the bigger singles- trust me on that.

The wheels are turnin, Recovery time

Good luck on the recovery. Picking up trucks and driving them home is high on my list of fun. I need the extra Adrenaline rush that comes just before you push the start button!

    GL was easy!

Unforgiven- good deal on getting your truck, it looks like a nice one. We saw it in the lot last week when we picked up lonekazoos M109. It's very common for experienced bidders to wait until the last minute to enter bids. You were obviously willng to pay what you did. I would not call foul on...

    Post sale inspection Barstow CA

This is a pretty decent truck, and a strong runner- very tight. It did a lot more sitting around than driving during it's active duty days. Best of luck on the restoration, I'm hoping to do some offroad camping with you guys. And my F450 got about 22 mpg's following you home- a new record!

Need to transport M35 from SD to AZ

There are a lot of reliable truckers out there- but I don't know a single reasonable one! Fuel is so high and the days of decent trucking rates are over for now. You could jump on Uship and post your load as an option. I'd bet good money that all this truck needs is a pair of cheap Walmart...

    gen 2 light

My Gen2 light stayed on until I revved up the rpms after starting, then it stayed off. Recently, the light would not go off. Found it was not putting out, so I pulled it and took it over to the alternator rebuild shop. It is the passenger side unit. I thought I might have a hard time explaining...

    slobber tube

Better to get it 3' and cut a few inches off. 2' would be a little short, IMO. Sorry, Don't have a M/C part number, but any auto parts store has 1 1/4" radiator hose. And don't forget a clamp.

Weighed my bobbed Deuce this morning.......

His super light weight is mostly due to stock wheels/tires. For some reason I kinda like bobbers on 9.00 or 11.00's. My bobber --with 1400x20's-- weighs 10700 (hardtop).

    Finished Bobbing my Deuce

This thread is exactly what this OD thing is all about (to me)- buying an old truck hundreds of miles from home, planning the recovery, meeting some new friends in the process, driving it home and getting to really know the truck-- so that you feel good about the investment you will be making---...

    Deuce Fluids-What do you run?

I use modern 10w40 oil in the crankcase (when I pick up a GL truck, I throw in 30w for the trip home, then change to 10w40 when I change the filters). Ethylene Glycol w/low silicate anti-freeze- (thanks WSU) GL1 (NAPA) for the gears and axles. Lots of stuff to read about regarding fluids...

    Finished Bobbing my Deuce

Seth- looks great. Congrats. Do you plan to put some big tires on 'him' (did it change from a her to a him when you bobbed it?) [thumbzup]

Need Tow and storage of Deuce from Warner Robins Airforce Base

I kinda like to see guys drive their new trucks across the country. They either get out of the hobby, or become true enthusiasts. While I haven't done the coast to coast trip (yet), I have done some 2000+ mile recoveries, and I look back at them as great experiences. I'm always looking for new...
