    To all Members.

I have to change mine then, I hope I don't have the personality of a GL lot. One of these days I MUST have my BASSET and DEUCE in an updated avatar.

    Parts

Actually, that sounds typical of most GL trucks. Sorry you feel you got ripped off, but there are a lot of BSrs out there. I think the "buyer beware" attitude that many have with GL needs to be also used when dealing with individuals, as you found out. I recommend dealing with Brett at Boyce...

pics of m818 and ford gpw

I have to agree. That jeep just looks so much more "real" than those museum restorations. Grocery store......aw hell, I would do some light to moderate wheeling in that! Oh, and the big ol 818 is very sharp too.

    Fuel Filter Gaskets

Just like to add that if you take the bleeder completely out, be ready to turn the main switch off, cause you will get a good little fountain of fuel.

    Grease...Green Grease

Check out the NLGI 8 sodium based block grease that is used to lube the siderods of the old giant steam locos. That stuff is injected under extreme pressure and is SOLID. For the deuce, or any other trucks I like Mystic red (NLGI 2). Just a lithium base with no moly.

After you top off the system, do you open this valve on the heater to let it burp, then close it?

Attention!! Please use caution when driving vehicles home from auction!

I fear that a bad accident is inevitable with some of the carelessness going on, but I hope I'm dead wrong. Who was it that said "tires and brakes rule, else the driver is a fool"? They were correct. It also helps to train your brain to react to a stuck throttle situation, ie engine stop/...

    Eastern surplus

That is commendable that Eastern took care of you and others. I had to respond to your pizzed off and rude post. I can read just fine, I'm an electrical engineer. Intelligent folks on this forum know my meaning. I don't care what dealers do and I'm not mad at them for their pricing. Take a...

    Eastern surplus

Oh gawd, here we go . I think that the OP is just wondering why some rusted out NJ national guard trucks (if Im thinking about the correct dealer) are being priced so high. Now don't give me that _____ is a nice guy, and they go over the trucks thoroughly, blah, blah.... Do you want to...

    Holy crap I did it!!!

Congrats on the win! Makes me wish I would have held out for a winch truck. The folks at Warner seemed to be pretty helpful when I got my birdcage there. Overall, it was a nice base. DRMO was a pain to find though. Just a hint, when you get near the PX and Commissary, you are close.

    Oil Line problems

The oil line that runs from the front to the rear of the injection pump is the saturn part listed in the previous post, Part #7748847, NSN 4720-00-879-1676, $6.50. The other hose that goes from the block to the pump is still a mystery, as I do not have the NSN part #. The TM with the parts...
