The Red top battery is a gell cell (rugged) Optima battery. There is no difference in size, as the top is red it is one size. They are however, high $ batteries. I just happened to be lucky one day... and I'll just leave it at that.
No I need to get the camera out. If you stand in front of the truck there is a knock out on the passenger side of the front behind the plastic grille. I knocked it out and picked up a A/C duct fitting that is basically the size of the hole with bendable "fingers" so I flattened them against...
With the floor out you may want to put in saddlebags between the ribs on the box frame. I gained a lot of extra storage down there. Could be useful for water tanks, generator (if you remove a rib) propane bottle, etc. Batteries will fit right between the ribs also in the the plastic battery...
I could provide a picture but two red tops fit together in the tray just fine. I used the tray closest to the firewall so my cold air intake would be clear. I put a small air gap between them and clamped them down with the original hardware. If you are standing in front of the truck they are...
Oh if anyone needs a motor for their generator I have 2, 400 hz gensets both run but I can't use 400hz power so I have the motor and controls to part out if anyone needs it. Just PM me
I think Deucenoob? is in that area. We are all over NC get to know the guys here, it's always a great resource for help. We try to take care of each other here at SS. Stump and I are up here in Henderson/ Middleburg area about an hr away from you.
See tag at bottom! Nose art I always Loved nose art. Currently my air intake has the MOH blue with white stars. I will have to look for some cool nose art now.
Welcome! Read, Keep Reading, Read some more. Lots of info here. Remember it's a diesel (Don't put GAS in it!). It will be screaming on the highway at 65 as they are geared low, but it will pull just about anything out. Where are you picking it up? If it is north of you there are a few of us up...
+1 on the interlock switch. My electrician hooked it up $75 bucks later I was running my generator. Not trying to hijack the thread but anyone know what causes the starter to (LOUD) click and not spin? I can jump it and my MEP 002a will start and run as long as I hold the start switch for a few...
Easy, It took about an hr to run power down the frame and wire the switch and replace the window regulator. The BEST part is it looks stock from outside. I had a buddy that had the old blazer so the part was free (Thanks Stump!). You can either piggy back a fuse (they have fuse piggy backs at...
Oh and Doghead put a starter relay mod on here also (look up the thread) I plan on doing that soon also so I don't have the dreaded runaway starter. I also put in a powered rear window out of a civy blazer with the control up front...it makes it real easy
Yes always on the male end of the plug and I use it on my fuses too. I have solved more electrical gremlins by cleaning and greasing than any amount of wire tracing. I scraped my fuses with my knife to make sure they were nice and shiny.
