Is this the heater that blows hot air either to the floor or defroster ducts?

How wierd! I've been noticing the same thing on my A2 but only on right hand turns. Haven't had the rears apart, the cv boots look good with no leaks.

59, that link took me to something else- not sure why.

I finally replaced both front and rear channels on each window and that helped a lot. The old ones were completely shot and were obviously original.

I'd also like to know where you found them. Finding the right bolt spread has been impossible so far!

97, I don't know enough to help you with your 2 questions but was wondering how big a job the steering box replacement actually was. Can it be done without moving the engine, etc? Can you separate the box from the steering column or are they one unit? I may be doing this soon. Thanks, Mark

I installed the Monroe 66104 a couple of months ago and it works great! I had to file a little bit off the metal bushings that the mounting bolts pass through to get it to fit but it was easy.

Have you tried anything like mineral spirits or lacquer thinner? Mineral spirits is not very aggressive to the paint but lacquer thinner will be. I would test a small inconspicuous area first. Also I've noticed the military uses dry cleaning fluid as a parts degreaser. I've never used it but...

Welcome Palskidoo! I used to think driving my deuce in water would be cool, but after reading about the "after" maintenance there's no way except in an emergency. Somewhere, I saw a video of a soldier driving a deuce underwater while wearing scuba gear- haven't been able to find it lately.

D, do you think the condenser will get enough airflow mounted that way to work ok? Hope so after you put all that work into it! Let us know- great job! Mark

I also have Gulfway out of Florida. Collectors policy for A2 deuce about $200- no garage required.

Tom, a template woulda been reeeealy handy because doing the firewall was a bit**! Sam, I recommend doing it when it cools off- that way you'll have more time to "think" about it..LOL ! Not done yet but here's an update.
