    M936A2 Fun in the Snow

Cool pictures and great video!!! :driver::cool: I didn't have any fun toys to play with when I had to deal with all of that cold white stuff. :-( I guess that's one reason I think of snow as a four letter word with negative connotations (if you get my drift)! ;-)

    M925A2 to M932LA2 Conversion

Thanks for the offer for that truck, but I prefer a more low key design that still looks military. Your basic design intrigues me because I've never seen anyone mount a sleeper cab to a 5 ton chassis. Eventually I will be in the market for a vehicle that can tow a travel trailer on a round...

New Member, buying first M1009 Tomorrow (HOPEFULLY)

kswagg720: Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Academy!!! :naner::jumpin::driver::cookoo: Thank you for your service to our country!! :-) I'm thankful you've spent some time researching M1009's before buying one cold. Here are a few tips. Let me preface them by explaining that I bought my M1009...

    M925A2 to M932LA2 Conversion

4XDesign - You have an amazing set of skills and a nice shop! I love your conversion! Turning a 5 ton into a tractor with a sleeper cab is flat-out BRILLIANT! :-) I'd love to have a truck just like the one you're building!!! :driver::jumpin::goodjob:

    Cucv upgrades.

I discovered that rain enters narrow passages on both sides of the cowl box. Those passages get clogged with leaves, acorn, etc. The channels that direct the water to the bottom of the cowl are not long enough to direct it to the ground. The water finds its way into the cab through the drain...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

It is possible that the reaction you received was caused by the location of your flag, having nothing to do with your M1008. According to http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/STATUTE-90/pdf/STATUTE-90-Pg810.pdf, the American flag is to be flown attached to the passenger side front bumper only.

    Cucv upgrades.

    I just spent the past 30 minute searching SS for pictures. Here's what I found. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?107203-What-have-you-done-to-your-CUCV-today-lately-Part-2 Post #826, 828, 839, 1394, 2107, 2110, and probably a bunch more posts that I can't find...

M1010 for my daughter the field biologist

I'm glad you highlight the problem of painting lug nuts and studs. I wire brush and tape all studs and threads when I paint hubs and nuts so no paint gets anywhere near the threads.

    M1010 ambulance box build reference

I don't know if I'll ever buy a CUCV ambulance, but I'm curious about their construction as well as your plans for the box. :-D

    m1009 running rough

Did you bleed all of the air out of your fuel lines after replacing the filter? Have you recently started driving the truck a lot? If so, it's possible that the spooge in the bottom of the tank got stirred up and pumped in to your fuel filter.

    Drafted

Ferro - You are VERY wise and spot on. :-) Your first point covers you under the department's liability insurance. Your second point prevents you, the rescuer, from becoming another person that needs to be rescued. I hope everyone that reads this thread will follow your list, and make sure that...

M1010 for my daughter the field biologist

I just had a crazy thought, jpg. Is there any way that you could install a belt tensioner to your 6.2L to gently press the belt inward and away from your lower radiator hose? Look for a belt tensioner that has a bracket that you can mount to the engine. I'm not sure what would work because I...

DeLand FL Sat 11/7/15: DeLand Veterans Day Parade

Unfortunately I received word that I have to work on Saturday. I will not be able to attend the parade, and I cannot coordinate the convoy for pizza. :-( I did not make any reservations at the pizza place. Y'all are on your own if you want to head there afterwards. For those that submitted...

Rust protection M1009 - Rhino/spray liner a good idea or bad?

I read many reviews on other forums and learned of a product called Monstaliner. It is UV stable and got rave reviews from what I read. Does anyone have experience with Monstaliner?

How do you bolt radio antenna mounts to truck?

My antenna bracket bolts and star washers are not SS or galvanized. They are rusting even though they're painted. Did your son buy either stainless steel or galvanized bolts, nuts, and washers?
