    Stuck transmission drain plugs

I’m getting ready to change over to the transynd fluid and was looking at my drain plugs today. They both appear to be partially stripped. I’ve read someplace that these can be difficult to get out sometimes. Does anyone have a tricks of the trade they can share? Thank you fellas.

    Unit markings and truck history

Thank you sir. The truck was originally titled in SC, but that doesn’t mean much. A truck from VA probably wouldn’t have much rust either. From the markings on the truck it looks more like a 6 than an 8, but it’s hard to tell. Would the MB in the markings be “Maintenance Battalion”? The other...

    Unit markings and truck history

Thank you Wes. I believe the truck is from SC, as there is no rust on it. Where is the stonewall brigade based?

    Unit markings and truck history

Is there a way to research the history of our trucks? My unit markings were painted over, so I sanded it off as best I could to reveal the markings. I’m the third owner of the truck since it was surplus. Markings look like 118 22 MB, or maybe 116 22 MB. Thanks for the help guys.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Wow, that’s amazing. I can’t even find anyone to work on mine around here. I tell them I have a 3116 and they go ghost on me.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

After they replaced your injector, did they have to resync the rack?

    LMTV splash guards

Nice set up you have there Chris. Do you have to unbolt anything to raise the cab? Hard to tell from that angle, but it looks like it attaches to the top fender?

    LMTV Cab Suspension Airbags Alternative

Yes, the complete unit already crimped like in the picture above. The part number is pp997900 I believe they are about $400 each now $800 for a set.

    LMTV splash guards

Yes, that’s what I was thinking. But, finding an A1 parts truck to grab that from is going to be problematic. Guess I’m going to have to fire up the mig.

    LMTV Cab Suspension Airbags Alternative

Just a heads up, Ohio hydraulic said power packer doubled their prices on this unit. I recently went through this and was going to buy the Firestone bags, but ended up getting a set of good used ones instead for a fraction of the price.

    LMTV splash guards

Superman, Do you know if the splash guards fit the AO? I’d be ok with the hydraulic reservoir holder that Andy posted too, but I doubt I’d be able to find that.

    LMTV splash guards

Does anyone know if the splash guards for the front wheels from an A1 lmtv will fit an AO lmtv? I have seen some that other guys have fabricated, but I’d like to stay with something more factory. I’ve attached some pics from another members truck who has them installed. I’m tired of the mud...

    Preventative maint in wheel area

Ron, Got any tips for removing and installing the brake springs? I saw a video Wes did where he used a screwdriver to do it, but he had the hubs removed with better access.

    Preventative maint in wheel area

I am replacing all the tires on my 1078 ao and would like to perform any required maint inside the hub area while the wheel is off. So far I have: Freed up stuck brake adjusters Removed lots of rust Inspected brake pads Changed hub oil The pmcs talks about greasing the wheel bearings, but I’m...

In need of a M1078 Front windshield and a little about me, "The New Guy"

Erik Reistad is your man at Omni glass. Ereistad@omnigp.com For me the total price was seven bills installed, including the new seal. Wheelspinner had some seals, but don’t know if he has any left. Welcome to the nut house.

1078 and 1081 side light window interchange

My glass guy had no problem getting the passenger side window out, making a cardboard template, and reinstalling the window again. Seems they’re not too bad to do if you know what you’re doing.

1078 and 1081 side light window interchange

I don’t have a gasket, but my glass guy said he could probably reuse the old one. He just installed my new windshield today.
