First off love the opening post very funny! If any of you need a 55 gal plastic barrel and are near me (20 miles South on 85 from the Va line in NC) I have tons of relatively clean(they had dye or adhesive in them but you can clean them easily) plastic barrels that you can use for waste oil...
Another thought is to get a 2 liter and fill it with a mixture of new motor oil coolant, brake fluid Auto trans fluid and gear lube and shake it up to see how it separates. Because the used stuff you get may all be one color. Just my 2 cents worth.
I won't promise anything but I would be willing to bet you guys change a heck of a lot more motor oil than brake fluid (volume basis) so lets just figure 75% oil and 25% brake fluid, from what I have seen auto trans fluid runs great so no issue there. If you dilute it 50/50 then the mix is only...
Coolant should settle on the bottom. Filter or centrifuge it to clean it. I would blend it 50% with diesel and then ever increasing amounts to make sure you have no problems.
I currently use a centrifuge for cleaning WVO for fuel. Mine is a simple centrifuge 110v and it works great. My only concern was having something else being powered by the oil pump. Please let us know how you like it.:-D
I lurked on GL and watched quite a few auctions before bidding on my m109 and m1009 Blazer. The m109 was in Lejeune about 4 hrs from me and the 1009 was in Mechanicsburg about 5 hrs from me. I paid 1475 for the 1009 and 1425 for the m109. I drove the m109 the 6 hrs(50 mph vs 70) home and...
My justification was simple! I can sell it for twice what I paid for it on eBay, and if the crap hits the fan in this country I want a vehicle that can go anywhere and THROUGH anything. I figure I will make the 109 a camper to some degree. I am just trying to figure out how to do the heated floor!
Here is a dumb question. Could you put a n/c 24v solenoid air valve in the gladhand that feeds the towed truck air system so if you blew out an airline on the towed vehicle you could shut off the air from the cab?
Sorry I can't make the CMVPA meet this month...I have a prior comittment. Last month was GREAT! The food and company were exceptional! I plan on being there in April!
