Yes. If it was under a $100 or so. I was just throwing out a number.
Not implying that's what someone SHOULD make.
I got a quote today. Mind you it's not the magical $50, but much lower.
$120.50 per plate manufacturing cost. Not including chamfered lug holes.
No labor from me besides layout...

OK, I want to clarify my position here, as I seemed to have kicked off
this massive cluster..
To atankersdad, sorry if you got offended. The work you and your
machinist did looks first rate. I'm sure you got your moneys
worth, and I never believed you were trying to rip anyone off.
Maybe I...
*Sigh* It's not what you say, it's the way you say it. I invited you guys to finish this in my thread posted above, please do so. This thread is now useless.
Sorry atankersdad, again.
Dude, go somewhere else with your attitude. We aren't badmouthing anyone here. I am sorry anyone got offended, but we are just having a little engineering discussion. I find it very sad that you can't have a discussion on these things without someone here getting their panties in a wad. If we...
I'm sorry you're taking this the wrong way.
I'm just trying to figure out why it's so expensive and how it could be done cheaper. This is after all the modification forum, it's kinda what we do in here :)
I certainly didn't mean to piss you off. I certainly appreciate all the time and effort...
Sorry, not meaning to be a pain here, but I'm sure the original poster would like to be able to get them made cheaper as well.
I'm pretty sure he's not trying to rip us all off :D
So I for one like the conversation, should help a lot of people.
Kevin
These need to be made on a machine that you can design it once and have the machine do the rest. Are these being done one at a time by a machinist. I can see them being this much that way maybe.
Is there any machining done to the plate itself, or just the holes ?
Have you tried getting a quote...
