Thermostat issue maybe? Most of those trucks had arctic heaters on them and were set up for some real cold weather? That is a little warm if the guage is right compared to what mine runs at.
RE: towing a duece with a 1 ton or 3/4 ton pickup
Well.. Guys have done this and been successful.. Someone towed a couple deuces home with a 715 with a V8 in it. I dont think they had to tow them that far though. I personaly would not tow a duece that far with anything else but a deuce or...
I wish I had video of this one but didnt have the camera and it was 100 freeking degrees!! We used Dave's winch on his 5 ton to pull the winch off the tanker truck. Then set it on a back fireman platform on the truck to be towed! It was a long hot day in the cab of my deuce and in his 5 ton...
That would have been a site to see going down the road on a dolly and behind a deuce! Talk about taking out some curbs! Glad you are home safe. Did the dolly make it back to ADR's? I think that trailer was worth the hassle? Dont you?
Dont know?? Maybe the Army dont like em? Could they have been Marine trucks at one time and then the army end up with em? Somone on here knows the answer..
This was probably a Marine truck. They look like whats left of what we call "paperclips" with the radius cut off . The Marines used them for loading the trucks on ships and lifiting with helicopters I think.. This would be my guess.
Where is the pictures of the hillbilly chicks that cost gilbert some money trying to impress? I knew I was right when I called him "WILD" gilbert!! Wish I could have been there looks like you guys had a blast.. :driver:

That old truck never had it so good. No more heavy plow holding her down and a good dose of fresh air daily.. :grd: Should look awsome painted 24087 with Seabee markings.. Cant wait to see it. How about a nice M101A1 to paint at the same time? Still have one...
Yes. I hope to drive it full of parts to sell and pull one of my M37's either with a towbar or on a trailer. But I dont like to look to far ahead. Everytime I do something goes capoot!..
