What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I fully understand... especially the idea of... miserable fails!!!! LOL!! Seriously though... I've been 'messing around' with small, LED inserts, but so far my test efforts have been... unsuccessful to this point. So... I'll be super interested to see what you've been able to create, or put...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Nice work, SD! [thumbzup] Focusing in on the backlighting... I've actually been trying to do something similar by making my own LED bulbs, but I really don't have the 'electrical experience' to push through the project without concerns that I might ruin things. Are the bulbs in the last photo...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Hey... I greatly appreciate the explanation! [thumbzup] I will look into the whole thing... for sure! Thanks a TON!! One thing I do need to mention is... when I lift different loads (only tested it on 3 items so far), I bring the 'arm' in all the way so it is pretty short. The...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Hi TobyS... Not sure I understand. Would the 'gusset' be adjustable in length, so that once the desired height was reached... it could be locked into position in the event that the jack fails? I've been up working on the deuce since 1 AM, so my brain cells are very... VERY tired! LOL!!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Yup... the arm is long, but it does shorten up quite a bit. I'll have to measure it to give you the range. Right now, to test it out, it's got a stand alone battery. In the days to come (if weather, skeeters and time allow) I will wire it into the battery hooked to my solar panels. I have...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

As noted in the photo, my small bed crane is made, in part, from scrap steel and some discarded parts from an old HF lift. I also made use of an electric winch, from HF, that I mounted to a heavy slide plate. I've been testing the lifting potential of the unit recently. It has no problem...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Ha ha! Yeah... good question! 8) I took a few, but I'll have to hunt for them later. Right now I'm trying to get best use out of every second I can find to work on the deuce while the weather is halfway decent... and... the mosquitoes aren't draining all... MY... fluids! LOL!!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I finished my bed "crane" build and have been testing out the lifting capability. It's not going to lift monster items, but it will allow me to load the truck when I set out on my NJ to AZ adventure. It's become my new 'Soldier B' and I love it! :-D

Help with firewall and heater box threaded holes...

Thanks folks! I'll now be able to proceed without fear of stripping out the original threads. The rust is a problem, but some of the paint layers seem as hard as steel! As always... the help is MUCH appreciated! [thumbzup]
