Ahh... Sooo...Grasshoppa understand now.
If one drives a MV to the show, what is the correct procedure once arriving.
Is there a separate parking area or entrance...
Do we need to coordinate with POC ahead of time...
Is a military vehicle considered an exhibit which make the driver the...
Thanks for the input...I was thinking it was something like that...gonna do figure 8s, get it to clunk, then spray the spring pockets with soapy water for temporary lube and see if the sound changes...if it does then sound confirmed, move onto the next anomaly!

14hrs in a civi equals 20hrs at least in a 5ton!!! Just thought I'd ask why you didn't get a truck from the Atlanta lot?
I'm guessing you're a thrill seeking adrenaline junkie just dying to check "drive 5ton cross country" off the bucket list!
Congrats on the successful 1st day and I'm jealous on the prep work they gave you...I've been to 3 different GL lots and they all differ greatly.
Is the CLUNK WHEN TURNING coming from the front or rear of the truck? Mine clunks in the rear when turning tight and I'm trying to determine if it's...
Quick and easy way is to put a valve stem core in each wheel which will isolate your tires- let you determine if you have a leak in the wheel itself- let you use the truck while you track down air leaks/problems in the truck...hook truck up to shop air and bring air lines up to pressure then...
I found it helps to shoot some liquid dish soap in the channels before removal/replacement to keep the plastic from binding in the channel. The liquid soap is thick enough to float the plastic slider and will wash away and not attract dirt like a grease would...
While you've got it off you...
I bet you're shocked at how heavy that canvas is...it's gonna be like wrestling with a big wet noodle! Roll one side to the middle longways, then roll the other side to the middle longways, flip the whole roll over then unroll both sides...that will keep it aligned front to back and can be done...
I noticed that too...I've seen that done right before a convoy as a joke on a certain driver that he can't do anything about until the end of the trip...I'm sure a couple people got a chuckle as you rolled by and reminded them of the Ol Days!
Congrats on the successful trip... Kudos for both...
If you're gonna copy one, this is the best looking armor I think...it looks tough ,not Franken...

Ditto...55mph limit is due to centrifugal forces that affect flexible sidewall off-road tires (especially the big soft super singles) and can cause shredding at speed...ever see a top fuel dragster's rear tires grow when they do a burn out?
That is probably what it is. Even the chart is different than what's molded into the side of the 16r20 I was looking at that max psi is 110...just shows you how much research is involved with these trucks to not learn the hard way...
I was looking this up for myself and thought some others may be interested in a condensed quick access version. The tire pressures and max MPH (55mph) are interesting. Anyone know why 5ton tire pressures are set at 70 (or 80 depending on where you look) when the max pressure @max load is 110/125...
We'd probably just have to get with one of our SS vendors, collect the money up front, and then put in the order ourselves...once the word was out they really do exist, I'm sure the popularity of the axle/locker combo would increase quickly so get your axles now while they are in obscurity!
Would installing a locker in just one rear axle on a 5 Ton be a compromise of added traction if/when needed without the full hassle of both locking...if so, which axle (1st/2nd) would be the best choice?
