It took me about 2 weeks of fielding bids before I found one on uship that was in my price range, so it helps to have a very broad window for pick up and drop off dates. That will let you be picky and wait for an offer on a back haul.
It is an auction site after all.

First, let me say since my wife was Airborne I know shes nuts.
Second, modern parachutes as in not the siht that the Army uses for static jumps are far better then they used to be.

Would have had to been a 900 series like the M934 van body or the m927 XLWB.
The M809 series did not have singles until the last 10 or 15 years and are non standard.

I have driven my M820A2 thousands of miles and have yet to get anyone angry at me for driving slow.
They are normally too busy taking pictures and waving. I have had some near accidents because people are trying to take pictures with phones while driving.
Seen it before.
I really like the cab forward design of the vehicle as it allows you to use more of the length of the truck. Since mine does not have that I am utilizing the expanding van sections to make the main floor of the box 17 ft by 14 ft. The debate goes on with the wife over putting a...
The m292 vehicles have a longer wheel base in order to handle the length of the 17 foot box.
The box also weighs in a little over 6000 pounds so a 2.5 ton is going to struggle to pull that box. I believe they were meant for range control vehicles and hence seldom moved.

If that would not cost me more then the cost of the truck to ship it down here I would buy it in a heart beat.
Beautiful looking truck.
By the way 5 tons will rip the wallet out of your pants take your money credit cards family photos and wedding ring, then leave you asking when you can do it...
Well this latest acquisition has been sold.
I agree with the above posters that its too nice to part out I got an offer from a collector that wants to restore it. In exchange I get the winch assembly and parts I needed off another truck.
