    VW Kurierwagen (VW 181)

There are those people in Ohio who would have just used bondo (body filler) to fill in the holes... Then after the first accident, they would have swept up the bondo dust, added some water, patted it into a new shape and made a modern car with a plastic shell. :) Good welding, good work on the...

Anybody interested in steps for a deuce?

Hmmm, I want to see pictures of one when you get it installed.

Anybody interested in steps for a deuce?

Hmmmm... How much? Will it have some sort of grab bar or bars? I tend to fall down and go %*&$%%!!!

M35A2 clutch brake and gas pedal mods

Put a thinner cushion on the back of the seat. Worked for my brother...

    RK's M35A2

At the solonoid air valve. See if you have power there then see if you can trigger it there. That will rule out a bad breaker or a bad solinoid.

How long does the Primary Fuel Filter drain For!?

Heck my brother bumped my deuce into a tree and got the engine running backwards. (After a stall and restart from the tree pushing back.) It took me about half a minute to recognize the problem. My brother was focused on the tranny, he couldn't find reverse, truck kept on going forward! Extra...

    surplus center distribution panel project

As johnray13 says, the neutral IS the power return wire. The ground wire IS a safety device. It doesn't matter that they connect to the same ground at the breaker box. In a house, this is the closest you can get without providing a separate Earth ground for the two wires. If the ground wire...

How do you flush a deuce cooling system

If you are being hard core about the cooling system... After you have flushed it, if you mix your own antifreeze and water... If your tap water is hard water, use distilled water. Hard water tends to leave deposits, particularly in a situation where it gets vented. Distilled has none of those...

    Shift Lever Interference

There is always a chance of things being bent. I'd suggest though you post a couple pictures so people could see the problem. ( I could not find any good shots of the shift or I'd post something from my truck. )

What to look for in a deuce?

Actually my local suburban headache is road weight restrictions that seem to pop up everywhere. Some of the bridge ones make sense... I suspect the weight restrictions on Canal Rd. are to keep the canal from slipping into the canal but some others are just crazy.

    surplus center distribution panel project

Hmmm, if this is going to see water near by or even just outside a GFI, or a GFI breaker would be in order.

What to look for in a deuce?

The deuce is a fine vehicle... But it is a much better second vehicle, some people use them as daily drivers, I'd recommend against it. See the video series on youtube "So you want to by a deuce". Download the technical manuals (TMs) from this website and read them to see what you are getting...

    Hello from North Carolina

Crew cab on a long wheelbase sounds great. What you put behind it is up to you. If you are swapping out the tranny, peashooter is selling a nice tranny mod that will allow you to add backup lights to the rig. Just remember, by admitting you have such plans, you are duty-bound to post lots of...

    Odometer going backwards!!!

    * Whew * Sounds like a good call. I was all worried about him trying to get the truck up to 88 MPH. Now there would be some interesting special effects.

help me design a radio shelter

Be warned, computers can be RF noisy. They can also be affected by noisy RF. I used to be able to reboot one of the office computers with my handheld. Consider carefully your wiring plan. As far as ruggedizing any computer look into semiconductor ( hard ) drives. Not exactly cheap but fairly...

Are you kidding me? Squealling coming from generator

I'd bet the belts too. If you can get an ammeter and put it into series with the batteries, you can watch the system load. Generally you get a heavy discharge from the batteries, after engine starts the generator will load up to recharge the batteries, but in less than a minute the batteries...

How/where re you guys mounting your license plates?

Err.... I mounted mine on a hinge up front and for the rear I used a NAPA trailer light for a luminary.

Hope to be there Friday or Saturday. Looking for some deuce stuff. Boarding ladder, Tailgate, data plates: authorized fuels, manifold heater, anything for hot water cabin heater, and finally outer frame for windshield.
