    It appears I just won a M750

They aren't bad to haul. Indiana to NH with this one, no problems, even through the mountains of VT when we took the scenic route home. Jim

    Maine Rally 2010

I talked with him earlier today, but i was still going to head up tomorrow. But I got a call this evening and got an emergency job changing a clutch tomorrow, so the plans changed. Sorry, but I guess I won't be making it. Maybe if the clutch goes smoothly maybe Saturday, but if I had to give a...

    Maine Rally 2010

I thought I was going to have to duck out due to financial reasons, but now it looks like I'll make it. but my wife won't be able to, she has to work. I need to get hold of Beaubeau, hopefully we can head up Friday afternoon. That breakfast by Boatcarpenter sounds good. Guess I have to get a...

    Dana 60 under a m37?

Swapping axles is easy enough, so some searches on the web. I've read about lots of M37s getting newer axles. Along with newer axles and more street-friendly gears, you get front disk brakes and better brakes all around. A definite bonus if you plan to drive the truck at all. But for the weight...

    Xtreme 4X4 Deuce bobbed(Spike TV)

Late to the show, but I'll throw in a vote for a 12v Cummins. Stock they have lower output than the newer electronic motors, but still much more than the multifuel. Throw in a $100 fuel plate and you are up to the output of a 24v or D-max. Go a little further and it would have insane power. And...

What is the best engine to have in a 76 deuce?

Actually for most engines, and generally speaking, you got that backwards. Torque is usually increased dramatically by increasing STROKE. That way the pistons have more leverage on the crankshaft. Compare different engine styles and you'll see that. Long strokes are usually low revving, high...

What is the best engine to have in a 76 deuce?

That's because you are in Texas. We have hills here...mountains, actually. Put a mountain in front of a Deuce and it WILL go over it, just very slowly. :-) Jim

What is the best engine to have in a 76 deuce?

The 8.3 would be an excellent motor, but expect to pay a premium. I've seen Dodge trucks with 8.3s in place of the 5.9, so they aren't much larger. I would be very happy with a 5.9 in my personal Deuce when I can get one. The one I have on hand is tuned for around 650 lbs. of torque, plenty to...

how to turn up fuel...in pictures?

Thats all i want is a little low end power. I've driven my father's Deuces and laugh that they have no power (compared to a typical newer diesel truck) but mine has about half the power of his! I need to sell this truck soon, so i just want to make sure its tuned right. It was a LOOONG trip home...

how to turn up fuel...in pictures?

Well I think I found my problem. I hooked up my boost gauge today and took it for a spin, and going uphill I can only get about 6 lbs. of boost, max. From what I saw in another thread, I should be seeing 8.84 to 9.82 psi boost at 1600 rpms. Well at 1600 I'm closer to 4 lbs. or less. Now...am I...

Nope. I'd love to find one to put a rollback body on for all terrain/all weather auto recovery. Jim

For those that have swapped the axle on an M101A1

Why not look for a pair of the newer 8-bolt drums for your trailer? Someone on here may have a pair. That will let you run any of the 8-bolt wheels (except Ford's metric pattern). just a thought... Jim
