Hi Mike, I was going to originally paint all the new bolts. But after looking at them unpainted, I thought it cut up the front end and looked pretty sharp. thanks for the comments you also Frank! Gotta tell ya- i was amazed at how dark the paint has become from the pictures posted here taken...

since initial post on color, the body work was done (to much to list) sandblasted,primed, new carb,fuel lines, plugs, brake lines, master cylinder, rear main harness (installed yesterday) new lights all around, 3 way headlight switch, new rear frame tails &cross member, bumperettes,turn...

more and more guys notice the color lol it looks nothing like lusterless marine green.... these were taken day after painting. how ever a week later the true color appeared. I'll post some more in a week or so. got the truck back together, did the carb, harness, added directional's etc

Guys thanks for the input. a wealth of info I met with the guy who's going to help paint it tonight (its what he does for a living figured he would know better than me I still paint by numbers.......) He is insisting on going "lusterless/flat". keeps telling me I'll regret anything else...

Bruce, they look like they go all the way, I'll find out soon enough. I was going to plasma cut the plate out the grind off any I miss, you think I should just grind the welds? not cut? I dont think it would be to difficult to grind , kinda a shoddy welding job. And yes apparently it was done...

ok here are a couple more pics. in the pics you can see the plate is about 2.5 feet it goes to just about the end (front ) of the fuel tank on both sides with a piece of 2 inch angle to hold the fuel tank up very creative Yankee ingenuity- Also the frame itself appears intact from what I can see...

Ya the frame tails appear to be intact. It looks like some kind of plate has been welded in. From the looks of it (I cant see looking up from underneath the inside due to plate) but the shackles seem to be bolted in with the original bolts? I will try to get a better pic of exactly what they did...

*sigh....... yep gonna need them also thanks for pics Bruce. Lee, you may have a point, I'm hoping once I pull the bed that I just see some plate welded onto the frame tails & it'll be pretty simple to plasma cut out........I hope... if not I guess I'll have to scab in some new tails.
