I have seen pictures of Chris' truck taking a dirt nap a few times now, and for the life of me, I can not see how he was able to lay it on its side. No big hill, or hole, just pretty much level ground covered in lots of mud.
But if there is a way, gimpy will find it.
I am sure that had you wanted to test its abilities, you could have easily fond a mud hole to get pulled from.
There was NOT a military truck at haspin that could not get stuck, if the driver was willing to try going anywhere, in fact there were dozens of places you could have stuck your stuck...
They were glad you brought the boy back to them!
You did a good thing, but in this day and age, I bet you won't find to many that will let a stranger take their child off in a vehicle without a fight!
A Tire Bead Breaking Hammer would have made light work of that in a fraction of the time. And the split rim isn't broke down until after the bead is broke loose.
And as for removing the split rim ring, a couple medium screw drivers and a hammer is all that's needed.
I can almost always break...
From my seat in the deuce, all I could see was the trees, and the hill across the way. My son said it looked like the 1009 was coming up the hill at 15 mph, if that's the case, it was my fault for running the rpm to high! (I had the throttle set at about 1300 rpm, but the winch shifter was...
I felt bad that you got stuck, so I went and pretended to get stuck, yea; that's it, I pretended!
Thanks again Greg for everything this weekend, Michael and I felt at home, and your hospitality is most appreciated!
It's about time you join in on the forum fun Bud. Let me be the first to say Welcome aboard.
Best partner for winching out a truck anyone could ask for. Thanks for everything.
We also had a M105 for storage on this trip.
If you are referring to when I wrenched the 1009, that was no problem, but the shear pin didn't much care for the sudden jerk when you was trying to help then lost traction.
For future reference, whenever being wrenched just put the truck in neutral and let the wench truck do the work. With...
I had a great time.
I wasn't sure if I was stuck the first time my truck had to be pulled out, so I went into the same hole once more to make sure I did it right the first time.
And sure enough, I had.
But I did not have to be pulled out any the whole weekend. (My son got behind the wheel...
I'm bringing my laptop with maybe 100+ movies on it, if the projector has the correct connections, and we can find a good set of speakers, we will be fine. (It also has a DVD player!
I'll be rolling out here in about 45 minutes or so to meet up at Kips farm.
Hope everyone has a good, and...
I like the way her mind thinks! (Before someone makes a crack, HAHA I said thinks, not stinks! haha) With that said, I'd like her to clear her mind. LOL
