My new M220 soon to be camper

The plan is to add more camper items to it, nothing too fancy just some bathroom amenities and a little generator. The m151s are what started the MV addiction and require some extensive work, so they are more of a long term project.

My new M220 soon to be camper

Truck arrived Thursday at noon, had some trouble firing her up, but she is safe at her new home now. (Higher altitude, 95 degrees in the shade and missing a wire upon hooking up the batteries pretty much sums up the troubles...aua)

XM211 New Owner - any operational, PM, or spare part recommendations (or for sale)

I use the 91 octane ethanol free gas from the local Maverick and it works great in mine.

    G749 preservation

Well you have sheaves for wire rope, and what seems to be a "trough" mocked up out of steel tubing... I'll hazard a guess and say it at least involves a winch in some capacity. Needless to say I am looking forward to the reveal.

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

The GMC axles are 6.17:1 ratio and the GMC t-case is a 1.16:1 ratio As for the Hydramatic transmission, the ratios are as follows: Gear High range Low Range 1st 4.08:1 15.67:1 2nd 2.63:1 10.05:1 3rd...

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

As NDT said above the M35A2 transfer case front output spins the wrong way, and only has one rear output. The Jimmys have two driveshafts going to the rear. I had the same concerns as you getting into these trucks, but as long as they are taken care of they are as dependable if not more than the...

Estimating production year of an M151A2

Some pictures of the rear and underside would help, but it appears you have an M151A2 with a M151A1 grill. The straight underside of the front fenders does indeed indicate it is a Ford built M151A2.

Please talk him out of this

If it were me, I would look more into how the m35 dual system is set up, I believe they are set up so the front axle is on one circuit and the rear axles on the other. Interesting idea, but splitting the upper and lower wheel cylinders would most likely not work, at least not anywhere near the...

    1956 M135 GMC I6 Conversion to Diesel?

That PDF is from 1998 so I am sure all those prices are no longer relevant. It would be interesting to contact NAPCO and get a quote. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the Funk Power Shift is like the REB shifter that was available years ago from Memphis Equipment. A lot of good info on...

    1956 M135 GMC I6 Conversion to Diesel?

The round nosed Jimmys are very dependable and as you are in Canada you'll most likely find a better parts supply for them up there than for the M35 series. I may be biased, but I prefer the Jimmys. The 302 really perks up when you feed her 91 octane ethanol free gasoline. As for the hydramatic...

It should be 3 - 5 lbs for the fuel pressure. As for the metal tags check out the TM's here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?79524-TM-s-for-the-M151 for a wiring diagram.

m211 how do I bypass airpac

Make sure that the Mico brake is switched off (temporary parking brake). The Mico switch is an electrically applied check valve that prevents the brake fluid from returning to the master cylinder. I know of a few owners who have completely disabled the Mico switch on their trucks to prevent...

    Carboarius' 1954 M211

There might be a few south of me, but not any that I know of for sale. I have my eye on a few project trucks around town, but nothing has come up for sale yet. The guy I got the bed from was planning to make it into a trailer, but decided my truck was a worthier cause; he didn't have any other...

    Carboarius' 1954 M211

The bed was from a local guy, he stopped by my garage sale this summer and said he had a bed that might fit the truck. Little did he know that it was a bed for a M135. The tires are Michelin X 14.5 r20s so they are about 44" tall, give or take. The tires are roughly 4 inches taller than the...
