In the CO Guard, we would have "employers" and "spouse" appreciation day where we would fly the employers of our troops as well as our troop's wives on local flights in both the Huey and the Blackhawk. The Huey was typically more popular...flying doors open at 20ft was a real thrill for our pax...

As I understand it, it is very difficult - or impossible to use a Huey "for hire" when it comes to carring passengers . They are not FAA certified for that, only cargo and other non passenger - could be wrong, but I think t hat's the case.

I seem to recall a thread about making one by welding a fifth wheel to a generator trailer chasis. I think it was David "ARMYMAN30yearsplus" who crafted it...anyway, looked pretty cool.

The Navy trainer in the photo is from my old - very old - training squadron VT-6 the "Do'er Birds" - what a great airplane...can you say "torque roll"? Lots of rudder on take off!

Thanks and yes...smells like a hot brake. When I get it on a jack, the wheel is difficult to turn, back and forth a little. No side to side movement and it does sound like the shoe is dragging.

The left brake seems to be dragging, Pretty sure it's the parking brake, but wondering if it could be anything else - both parking brake handles seem to work ok.. I have not hooked up to the deuce yet (therefore no air yet and have not had it hooked up since I got it). The wheel turns but not...

Just picked mine up and towed with my Suburban...no problems, just need to be careful to give yourself plenty of stopping distance.

Same here! I have had the real benefit if flying many different helicopters in both the Navy and the National Guard. Hands down, the Huey was by far the most fun to fly. Simple, reliable and real seat of the pants flying - especially low and fast with the doors open! No trim, auto pilot...
