Warbirds over Monroe, NC Nov 8-9th

Anyone here going? I'm planning to. I just love those rotary engines.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Took my niece and nephew for a ride in mine this weekend. Upon pulling into a boat ramp parking area to do a walk around and to turn around and head home a guy ran up to us asking if we could pull his truck that got stuck. We found that his pickup had rolled away while he was out in his boat...

    Move mobile home with deuce

Just a couple hundred feet, I'd probably just figure a way to wrap a chain around the pintle and ball or sling the ball slightly under the pintle and drag away. Not saying do it, but its probably something I'd do because I'm cheap and not to bright sometimes.

No Electrical When Ignition Switch is On

FYI my horn works with the master switch off.

    M35A2 from Ohio to NC

I moved to Charlotte, NC last month and need to get my M35A2 and M105A2 down here with me. Its currently on my parents farm near Marietta, OH. It runs and drives and I would make the trip down here if it weren't for the mountains and murphy's law. Anyone got suggestions or could help get me from...

    factory turbo motors

LDS is nice. You still have a limit due to gears, but you can at least hold speed on hills better. Stopping is another issue.

is a bobbed deuce a practical daily driver?

The A2 engines grenade at will just like any used engine. Personally my deuce is treated better than my wife, but I'd still rather commute something modern. The truck is for joy riding when I have all the time to be safe and really enjoy it.

Newbie Looking at my first deuce

The ID number 04A-72671 0525 18634 is actually Registration number 04A-72671 This should also be painted on the doors and lots of them get painted with earlier paint schemes get them on the hood sides as well. VIN Number 0525 18634 This should be around a 1970 built truck without a winch...

Just Got My Deuce, and of course a few new questions.

Buy your paint from RAPCO and you'll get that nice finish you like.

Just Got My Deuce, and of course a few new questions.

I'm not 100%, but I think the alternator is also energized by the master switch. Might have to check a manual for that though. On this trucks "KEEP IS SIMPLE" applies when checking about anything and especially electrical problems. Remember its old and the grounds can be rusty. The gauge...

Just Got My Deuce, and of course a few new questions.

As for the electrical gauges not working, I wonder if they are getting power from the master switch?

    Expectations of M35

A deuce would be perfect for the job if your not in a hurry, or simply to large to fit in the cab. Otherwise you'll just be looking at maint things any old truck would have. Not sure if you require 6x6 or 4x4, but as mentioned the price of these trucks is up and there are much better and...

Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

Thats a very good, quick, approach to finding the trouble area of an engine. I'm surprised you don't see it mentioned more often.

Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

What do you mean by "smokes"? These trucks smoke pretty good, especially if the fuels turned up and/or its a non turbo model.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thats really cool, you used a deuce for something it was designed to do. All I did this weekend was take mine on a 1hr long shakedown cruise before I start my adventure to SC with it in a few weeks.

    Buyers Gude/basic model descriptions

Dual tires aren't always the case even from the military. As I mentioned, my truck was modded by the military to single's as are many trucks. Also I think you'll find on this site there are two camps reguarding the A2/A3 debate. They are different vehicles even if they share a common chassis...

    Buyers Gude/basic model descriptions

There's not really a difference over the years. If your talking about the M numbers M35A2, M50, M109 etc... That wiki link is a good source. There can be differences that have been "created" over the years and are vehicle specific. Such as my truck, its a `65, has an LDS engine, and duals...

    Deuce Fan Belt replacement

If your like me and just don't have long enough arms or something to get those two lower bolts, I found it much faster to just remove the three bolts holding the bracket to engine block, then loosen the bolts once the alternator is on the ground. I spent at least an hour the first time I messed...

    Muffler on a turbo

45's a good cruising speed for the deuce and even empty a normal deuce will slow down going up a hill. Also a good idea to stay slow going down. The brakes can work great, but aren't good at being used continuously like modern brakes. Not sure about anyone else, but I notice the brake fade...

    Muffler on a turbo

That's my thought, I never exceed 50 and I have 11x20 tires and an LDS so it has no trouble getting there.
