    Wheel Backspace Adapter Q's. M1008

I think you'd have to do some pretty major trimming. Like, almost remove the fender. I have no practical experience even attempting something like that. That's why I got the lift. Before I installed the lift I rolled one of the 37"s up next to the truck and they were just barely smaller than...

    Wheel Backspace Adapter Q's. M1008

One more thing before someone jumps in and asks. I ordered my lift kit from ORD here: Offroad Design - Fullsize Chevy GM 4x4 Suspensions, Parts and Performance. These guys are great. They specialize in older full-size Chevy's and know the CUCV's well. I talked with the owner and he has a M1028...

    Wheel Backspace Adapter Q's. M1008

Btw: I got my wheels and tires here: MILITARYOFFROADTIRES.NET - We're declaring war on high tire prices!. I got 4 ea. 37" x 12.5" x 16.5" Goodyear MT Military OZ HMMWV tires already mounted and balanced with 95% tread on the 12-bolt bead-lock wheels WITH the run-flat inserts already installed...

    Wheel Backspace Adapter Q's. M1008

I just lifted my truck last night and went through all of this. You need a 2" 8x6.5 to 8x6.5 backspace adapter and 4" suspension lift on a M1008 when running the 37" x 12" x 16.5" HMMWV bead-lock wheels and tires. You only need them in the front for clearance, but it looks a little goofy in my...

    M1008 rear u bolt size

Sorry I don't know the size off-hand. I'd have to crawl underneath mine and measure, but if I were you I'd call Off Road Design out of Colorado. They're great folks and know these trucks well. I just picked up a new set of Dana 60 U-bolts from them for my lift. All Grade 8 hardware...

Banks Sidewinder or Cummins 6bt swap???

So, I think most of us can agree that the 6.2 is, uh, disappointing in the HP department when compared to most of today's diesels (I know , I know, they're great, dependable, depends on the application, consider the era, whatever) and this project would be about a year away for me right now as I...

    Driveway paint job finished

I'm impressed. I was envisioning an entire weekend of long hours just to get it prepped and sprayed with the first coat. You're giving me a little more confidence to pull this off myself. I was seriously considering paying a body guy on the side to do this for me then I could come behind with my...

    Looking For MN/IA/WI Members

I've never run any kind of heater. No ether or anything. Just be sure your GP's and relay are good. At most I've had to cycle my plugs twice. Never had a problem starting even after sitting for weeks in sub-zero temps outside. Make sure you have good batteries too.

No excuse! Don't want to hear it. There's a 1008 with a plow for sale just south of Hinckley for around $5,000.

    Driveway paint job finished

How Many hours you figure you had into the project? I'm considering doing this soon. I need to do a base color similar to yours or OD then going digital camo over that.

    Diy rock sliders

That's why I want them. After I lift I'm worried I won't be able to swap tires easily even with a high-lift jack. Not to mention how handy it would be off road. I'm serious about buying a set from you, if interested PM me.

    Diy rock sliders

Are you running spacers on your rear wheels? The lug posts look shinier than normal. I just got spacers for the front end on mine, but not the rear. Wondering how goofy it will look if I don't also push the rear wheels out.

    Diy rock sliders

Ok. Well you're talking me out of it fast. I have access to the chop saw and welder, no torch. I have a better idea. Make a set for me and send me a bill! Could be a pretty lucrative little side business for you here. Interested? If so, how much?

    Diy rock sliders

Wow! Nice work. Ive wanted something similar myself. I just picked up those same tires on H1 wheels and will be lifting 4" soon. I would love to do something similar on mine, then add a snorkel. Looks great! How long did that take you?

    Cucv 1008

Wow! Great work! I'm looking for someone to help me/do it for pay with my paint job. Mine's also from a sheriff's Dept but they painted it black and white and used it as a squad or to tow a boat. Id really like to have someone prep and prime mine then I want to do digital camo. I have the...

    Wheel Backspace Adapter Q's. M1008

As far as I know the M1031 is the same as the M1008 up front. Everyone seems to be running 2" spacers so I would assume you'd be good to go with that.

    Wheel Backspace Adapter Q's. M1008

Cuz I'm a broke-@$$. Tight budget on this project. Thanks for all the help guys. I ordered my 2" spacers yesterday from Billet Wheel Adapters.com Wheel Adapter Super Store. Final price: $114 with free shipping. I ordered my wheels (12-bolt bead-lock's w/runflats installed) and the 37" MTR...

    starter relay question

Just being diligent here, but are you sure the "click" came from down by the starter? Is it possible that it could have been your glow plug relay? I had an odd battery drain, was killing my batteries, etc. Turns out the GP Relay was stuck closed and my GP's were ALWAYS ON! Just one more...
