I refer to mine as the Battle Blazer

    Inverter location DILEMA!!

who? me? I've been banned from arfcom for almost a year.

    Inverter location DILEMA!!

Wouldn't have made any difference, as far as I can tell at least. I've stripped the interior down to bare metal. There are NO wires rear of the dash, unless they're hidden inside the body somewhere with no outlet into the cabin. There are no capped harnesses, cannon plugs, or even "I wonder...

    Inverter location DILEMA!!

it's a 12v DC inverter. I don't intend on using it when the engine is off, at least not for any period of time, aside for perhaps the aforementioned iphone charging. I realize that 1200w is a pretty significant load, thus the keep-it-running plan, but realistically, I don't see myself...

    Inverter location DILEMA!!

I just had the floor mat up for some paint work (see my thread about the bedlining the interior). There are no wires or mounts anywhere around there, at least none that I can recognize. Bottom line for the interior of this thing-- any location will have to be a custom mount with its own...

    Inverter location DILEMA!!

it should get it done, amirite? but no, i bought it to run anything I could conceivably want to ever run from the blazer. The 1200w was based on the highest draw appliance I was ever considering running from it, which was a portable air conditioner, which drew something like 950w. 10% more...

    Inverter location DILEMA!!

Are you referring to behind the drivers seat, or further back? Not sure where the radios were mounted. There was a bracket in the bed opposite the spare tire. I'm not sure if it was for radios or a gas/water can, but either way I cut it out to increase my floor space in the back. I'd like to...

    Inverter location DILEMA!!

I bought a Rally 1200w inverter from inverters R us for my M1009 (well, actually bought TWO, but since the first one was stolen off my front porch, end result is I have ONE in hand, but that's neither here nor there) My initial plan was to put it in the hole on the passenger side of the dash...

OD Iron AC install for the AC novice

aside from some wires, the only thing taking up additional space behind the dash is the inverter, which goes all the way to the back where the passenger side hole goes

OD Iron AC install for the AC novice

Ok, for those of you that have this kit, how crucial is it to have the factory dash? I've got a custom made dash, with an inverter to be installed where the right side passenger vent is supposed to go. I'd like to get this kit, but my idea is to create custom ducting using flexible metal tubes...

    M1009 trailer question

any issues pulling boats? i've got a 19' ski boat i'd like to tow around this summer with mine.

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

With the insulation the job cost me about $110 and an afternoon of my time. I'm on day 3 since the paint, and I'd say it's about half as fumey as it was when done, but still pretty strong.

1009 absolutely HOWLS when it's cold!

Here's my situation... on the first start of the day, or any start after sitting ~4+ hours, my M1009 absolutely HOWLS. I changed the belts and lubricated them with belt conditioner, but it hasn't changed anything. It only makes the noise when the glow plugs engage and the volt meter drops, and...

LMCtruck.... basically a parts supplier for old domestic truck parts.

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

My mat actually came with the truck, but they're available from LMC and JC Whitney for ~$200.

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

yep, that's the stuff. Went in REALLY easy, but i don't think it's doing much for sound insulation

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

the exterior is pretty good. the paint on the roof is a bit sun faded, but otherwise it's in good shape. I'm going to have to find better interior insulation, because the stuff I got is too thin. it's the foil backed stuff, but it's only 1/8" thick or so. it was real easy to work with, but...

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

obviously I just laid it down today, so I really don't know how well it will do after a few days/weeks/months. I'll report back though. Judging from some of the threads here, I can't be the first guy to do this, so someone else might be able to give you some insight on it already.

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

oh-****-yes not sure about long term, but ya, I was high as a kite today painting it on, and that was with both doors open and the tailgate down, with a breeze blowing from the back of the truck forward. I'm hoping the fumes die down a bit after the paint dries and cures

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

it was dark by the time i was done tonight, but i'll try to take some pics tomorrow. I'll admit it's not great to look at, as it was kind of gopped on there, but i'm going for function here, and it should function great. On top of that, just about all of it will be covered by floor mat or bed...
