I am not an expert so I may be wrong in saying this but common sense tells me that if the batteries are run in series then you would be pulling power equally from both batteries, just like anything else that is pulling power from the system. The only difference is that you will be "wasting" off...

Wow that truck on eastern surplus has a crazy amount of hydraulic lines! Now if he is running his power steering off that is it bad for the pump to be running constantly? I would like to see more info on that setup.
