Look in the TM's for testing axles w/ pressure.
I am pretty sure it was the 5 ton TM I was digging in a few days
ago and I saw this. If correct, you can probably get a safe pressure
to run at. I doubt you will be able to pump it up to "X" pounds,
you will probably need a pressure regulator and...
QF,
Go ahead and keep using the hollow ones.
When your truck crushes it, and rolls, I pray no one gets killed.
Guess how I know?
I guess you know better than me...
If anyone finds some good, affordable , rubber type wheel
chocks for 1400 / 1600 wheels please link us!
You have to ask if they are solid or hollow, they hide
that lil fact ...
DO NOT buy wheel chocks that are the black rubber
kind with the HOLLOW center. They FAIL.
I bought a couple from e-trailer some time back and they
might be ok for for vw, not much more. Make sure whatever
you use is SOLID material, not hollow.
I called Buz, he is a mechanic so simple stuff I am sure he can
try to diagnosis but from what I gather it is making grinding / rattling
type noise upon DOWNSHIFT. It is the M931A2 bobtail that has an issue.
He does have a towbar.
I looked up in the TM, TM 9-2320-272-23-1, EXCESSIVE NOISE...
RE A-Frame mounting alone;
Many trucks have Shackles at the top AND bottom on the front fender.
I wonder if you could mount the A-Frame poles at the bottom
and use the top for support chains and eliminate that pita cable
over the top to the rear?
Edit, or better yet, loose the chains and use...
I believe that switch to be a POLLACK 31-164
The pic in the PDF at the top shows something different, look lower.
Glad your up and running, NDT is awesome.
The " Artisan's M916 " thread has all your TM's on page 1, you
should DL them all and put them on a tablet / ipad and keep it
in the...
IMO;
The operators manual TM is this I believe;
TM 08780B-10
In it, it says;
"Lift and tow operations must always be conducted at a speed which the
operator determines to be safe under existing conditions. In no event
should the operator exceed 15 mph (24 kph) when lifting and towing
a...
The unit is all one piece, as in the alt and reg are one
unit UNLESS your truck was upgraded.
Is there a bracket next to the alt where a regulator
might have been attached?
Maybe a pic of that area?
