Can we assume you were runnin' bobtail / EMPTY and not hauling
a really heavy trailer, maybe wet, with a mud laden dozer
(muddy trailer tires and undercarriage on ALL as well)
like some do ? ;-)
Interesting, I didn't notice. Now that I critique it I believe
I see no stamping in the hood butterfly either that says
AM GENERAL and I do not think I see expanded metal
in front of the radiator.
I realize "THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICTURES"
but "I" am really happy this second due to what I did.
I lowered the PS pedestal undr the seat ONLY 2", adding
angle iron support as required under the new Hemtt seat
I added on the PS to match the drivers side. I told you this
recently...
The SCMVCC
Alas, It is actually picking up though.
It is under all new management and growth orientated they are.
Things are being done as one would expect and THEN SOME.
Member PiperCub came out for the first time 3 months ago
selling his wares and now we can't get rid of him! ;-)...
That picture of the 3 axle (rear) truck is an M920.
Hopefully an M920 owner will chime in and tell us if that
frontmost-rear, liftable axle, is driven or not. I "guess" it
is not.
My M916 is the same truck less that frontmost-rear axle
and a lil shorter.
No promises but the So Cal Military Vehicles Collector's Club
has a swap meet once a month at AMVETS, in Irwindale,
on Los Angeles St. Lots of good nuggets roll thru there.
The SCMVCC is under new management too.
It's all good...
Here is a copy of the latest newsletter if your interested.
This program is interrupted by a little history...
A little history I never would have known unless I had
paid attention to one of the elders of this forum, a man
whom has forgotten more than I will ever know about
these behemoths. . .
Some time ago I was reading a post this man penned...
LOL! Dude! That is insane short notice!
In the future keep me abreast of your travels!
I forwarded this to a friend but one day notice
is REALLY hard to work with brotha'...
Looks good. I am now leaning towards a much taller
whip mounted on the front bumper that doubles as a
height gauge. Driving down back country roads can be
scary, lots of getting in and out to look at clearances,
if there is a tall whip up front you can gauge things a
lot easier.
Those wheel...
Not a hijack! It's all good...
I do work regularly for a company with;
Water Jet cutter, BIG does LOTS
Lazer Cut machine BIG
Wood CAD cut machine
I draw in 2D AutoCAD, heaven it is.
Oh man...how I know about the front bumpers on these beasts.
Your method is viable unless you pull the bumper! I would do the
same if I had that excavator.
"they all do that" comes to mind.
Just yesterday I showed the front bumper to my welder.
I can weld but this kid can lay down...
The PS air ride seat to match the DS seat is still in the works.
The box the PS seat sits on was sectioned and chopped making
a 2" drop for the new bitch seat so both seats will sit at the
same height, but as usual, I saw opportunity and the PS box
not only is being made ready for an air ride...
If anyone within earshot has a cool MV way of adding
an Am/FM radio ANTENNA please chime in. I would love
a dual purpose antenna that serves as a height guage out
front too. 9' to 10' tall
I can make bitchin' civilian hitch parts...
I provide the port and starboard 3/8" thick steel drops and the two Star Gussets.
You have a licensed master welding contractor fit it up and weld it
all up. You supply the 16,000 Lbs receiver. All parts are CAD
designed and cut w/ a water jet...
Good deal! Your gonna love the C.E.Neihoff designed
upgraded charging system I am sending.
It's all boxed and scheduled to go to UPS tomorrow.
I will have UPS box the ALT again, to their specs, to
insure you get it w/o the UPS gorillas winning at
dropping it several times.
You will be...
