Exactly....except I am so anal about cutting something I "might" need someday! Ha!
I have been chewing on this all day and I the resolve will probably be to just
cut it but not until I exhaust all resources on a storbought resolve.
Gimp, The removal of the roller removes all kinds of stuff I need. I have time.
Derrick, Interesting...I wonder what the dims are. That could be a great starting point
and add gusetting... If anyone has that from 12" or so section I would love detailed
pics and some quick dims. I have 4.5" x...
If you have an M916 I started a Lunette Ring Extension thread HERE .
And I edited my post above changing the model number for the starter
as in further discussions w/ HI Torque folks they realized these were
a special deal they made for Perkins and gave me the right number.
The wiring diagram...
So I either have to cut off the Vertical Lunette Ring Mount welded to the trailer for clearance
from the Roller to the Vertical Lunette Mount, or I need to extend the Lunette Ring or
the pintle hitch itself.
Are there any extensions that can be bought or am I fabricating?
I kinda do not want...
Turns out the Mfg of these starters is right around the corner
from me. They returned an email telling me they sell direct and
they rebuild as well, of which I am sure I will do the later.
I can tell these guys will be good to deal w/. I have seen
others speak of them in a good light on the...
Awsome Job! yes, no need for the guides now and if you used
2x6 the wood is now higher than the metal runners and it will not
work as intended anyways. It will probably work but your going to
be dragging the can on wood, the GUIDES rollers will quickly
make an indentation on the wood I bet...
As you know on either side of the front of the bed is a latch
that keeps the bed secure in the full down position. What you
probably have not noticed if that latch is WIRED.
I pulled the protective sheet metal covers in that area looking at
what that shielded wire was for and there it is. It...
Are the batteries strapped down solid? Is it possible when you went for that cruz
one or more of the batteries jumped up and caused issues?
FWIW I have a Big Cam 400 in my M916 and w/ 2 Sears B-14 Batteries it starts FAST
and it spins QUICK while doing it. Just 2 Sears batteries...
Perhaps see if an MT654CR has any way to be beefed up?
I recently ran into a ALLISON repair shop that is old school, these
guys have decades of experience. Maybe they know?

OK I found a picture showing the GUIDES as I call them in use.
I was correct on my last assumption, you can see, albeit blurred
that these connect to the container, rollers down, loops in and you
connect the chains to the loops.
Robert Winston is in Barstow, he has a semi and trailer. I am sure he can quote
to move anything anywhere from Barstow or Fontana or..............

Under the Bellhousing is a hydraulic pressure valve of sorts.
It has a couple of VERY SMALL and totally inadequate drainage
holes. There are some tiny shells in there, as in shells from
a body of water. They plug those holes! I drilled in several
.4" or so drainage holes and all is well now...
Here is a picture of the label on what I would call the bellhousing.
Looks like the bellhousing and perhaps the pump is a Kubota.
I wish the whole deal was Kubota but the good part is a guy
could probably easlity swap in a Kubota 3-banger like out
of a BX25 if this Perkins turns into a Pukeins.
The gladhand air lines should be disconnected at the front of the trailer
and use an air hose and blow the spider egg nests out.
The air tank on the trailer should be flushed as well.
So far so good w/ mine for trailer-ability. All air bags inflated and
all LED lights work. Looks like a...
