    Iltis info?

Head over to the maple leaf up forum. It is mainly dedicated to Canadian/ commonwealth vehicles. If you have the CAR number (85-xxxxx) you can probably get some information there. Some of the members are able to check current databases to find things such as where it was based and where it was...

    M43 1951 Ambulance.

Nice! That looks pretty solid. What kind of shape is it in mechanically? Are you planning on restoring it or do you have other plans? I’m curious how it ended up in the UK.

    M43 1951 Ambulance.

Hi Ben, Welcome and let’s see some more pictures of your ambulance! Not sure if it’s a typo or not, but your truck is actually an M43. Can’t really offer much advice on the litter racks, but if you take a look over on g741.org you might find something. Good luck!

Ok well lets see if this works. I found a couple pictures of the M38 from about 10 years ago, not the best quality pictures though.. And a couple of the M37 when I moved it to the new house 5 years ago And then as it is more recently. Clearly I need to take a few more pictures of the...

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I’ll definitely have to dig up some pictures. I have great memories of learning to drive on the old dodge and filling it up with firewood to haul back from the woods. The M38 was used more on the trails through the woods, and pulling us on toboggans in the...

    Transmission Swap

They are in my experience good transmissions, But having never broken one I can’t really advise you any issues with them. They share parts with the T98, despite being made by Acme so parts aren’t hard to come by. I believe the input shaft is different in that it accommodates a larger clutch disc...

Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone here. I’ve been reading this site for quite some time but never felt required to post. I’ve got an M37CDn undergoing work, and an M38Cdn waiting to be finished as well. Both trucks belonged to my father and were used on the farm where I grew up, so...

    Transmission Swap

If you can locate a Canadian m37 transmission, they are synchronized in 2-3-4. They also use a larger clutch disc, and are based off the T98.

    M37 Hardware

Looks like a good truck to start with! Doesn’t appear to have a lot of rust and looks pretty complete. It has an odd spare tire mount though. I guess someone needed extra space in the bed at some point. What are your plans for it? You mentioned a restomod. Cheers Rob

    M37 Hardware

Hi, Most of the hardware is all fine thread, with some exceptions. If you find yourself a parts manual, it is pretty good at listing most nuts bolts etc. You will find that not everything is listed, but between the parts manual and the service manuals 98% is covered. Midwest military is a...
