    door/window weatherstripping

Wish I could help you. I will be doing mine in the next couple of weeks. Still working on getting the new out of the box doors lined up. Funny, I though brand new doors, should be able to just hang them and some minor adjustments and done. Wrong on that one.

    One of the first M37s

I am with Storm. Couldn't get me to part with mine for 30K and I still have a few months to go before it is done. When I am gone the kids can argue over who gets it.

    Usmc restoration

Restorstion up date I have not posted any pictures for awhile on this project so here is a up date. The nose was done a few months ago as was the canvas top. Today we mounted the cargo box. Will be moving on to the doors pretty quick to get them painted and hung before the winter closes...

    M37 Driveability

It seems every one has covered this topic quite well but I will cover one area that was not covered in detail. It is true what one of the guys stated about these engines not being well balanced or held to close tolerances. One must also remember that back when these were built that technology...

    Brake fluid

Given that silicone based brake fluid is what the mil specs calls for on M37's I was wondering if that is what folks are commonly using. Also has anyone had leak problems using the silicone based fluid.

Help me sort out my mixed up M37

Sort of putting things in perspective think about the fact your vehicle is 60 years old. Forget what may have happened in civilian hands. In its military life it went through rebuilding at various levels, modification orders and possible repairs for combat damage. I agree with what one person...

    m37 transmission gear oil

I posted quite a bit on this and it can get complictaed but the short version is that the lubricant must have a GL4 rating.

M37 ETW1 carb main jet size

If the threads are gone I would look for a serviceable replacement carb or rebuildable core. They pop up on e bay all the time. Mid West Military has kits that come with all new jets and hardware as well as gaskets.

    M37 observations and input wanted.

If you get into rebuilding the engine, go all the way. Have the head milled the block decked and hardened valve seats installed along with new valves. In addition to that have the rods and crank blueprinted. Also have the crank, flywheel and rods balanced. This can be done by any good speed...

    Rusty nuts and bolts

I have been knocking around automotive work since I was 15. I will not say how long ago that was but had not seen the candle wax ever used. I did try it a few weeks ago and it worked very well. Moderate heat was all that was needed so this is a great fix where sheet metal is involved and...

The Military is starting to scare me...

Okay guys, I did not read all of these but batteries give off Hydrogen Sulfide Gas in small amounts but at times can give off quite a bit. This most often happens when discharged or they have a bad cell or two. The gases sort of collect around the battery or in the battery compartment and then...

    Rusty nuts and bolts

I am a big fan of Sil-Kroil. A gallon can is about $40.00 so you have a life time supply. The product is much like PB Blaster but also has a silicone bsae which allows it to creep into the threads. Put it on, reapply as needed and let it soak for a couple of days. I had only a few bolts that...

Installing new cab seals, well thats where it started.......

I also used nutserts on mine when I went through the windshield frame. In addition to that I coated threads with never seize compound.

    M-37 Batteries

I got these at Advanced Auto Parts. They are a hair short for the hold down but perfect width. Pretty strong in the CCA department. Used 1/0 welding cable to make up my battery cables with all connections soldered to the ring connectors.

    WTB M24a3 MG mount

All my resources tell me very hard to come by, I was looking too. If you find one expect it will be pricey.
