    M37 fuel filter upgrade

Semper Fi Marine! Two of my kids are career USAF so my contribution to them was to use a USAF cab tub from Davis Monthan AFB on my frame off restoration. Followed by a couple coats of USMC green. Post some pictures so I can send them to my kids so they know what Strata Blue looks like.

    M37 Parking brake lever

Another case of learning by doing. Something I did plenty of on my Frame Off Restoration. LOL

    M37 Thermostat?

I am running a 180 degree thermostat. I am in the Chicago area and we have hot summers with some days in the high 90's If all parts of your cooling system are up to spec you should have no problems even on a summer day doing a parade.

    NP200 transfer case rebuild problem

Thanks for the reply. What they say makes perfect sense. I have used the process before on hydraulic shafts and other parts that do not have to carry a direct load. That is good to know and I will file it in my Brain Housing Group for the future.

    Canvas and paint

Just wanted to say Hello Storm how you been. Red Beard 1, here is my 2 cents. On my frame off resto I used canvas from Beachwood Canvas and was very happy with their products and service. For paint I used Gillespie products from Rapco again very happy. For paint application I used a HVLP...

    NP200 transfer case rebuild problem

I would go with the metalizing (spraying) and re-machine to spec. It is expensive but do you want to pull the case and redo it again? When I did mine I had some minor brinelling on my shaft and also could not locate one so I took a chance and used it over. Mine was caused by the parking...

    Fender repair

    Carb Headache

Did the problem exist before the carb was rebuilt? How long is your vehicle sitting before starting? Mine is all GI and if I do not take it out for a ride I start it every few weeks and it starts right up. Point being if it started ok before the rebuild I would look at the carb again. Also...

New Cargo Bed Top Installed, Pics.

Looks great. BTW the picture of your truck with the Ipay wood was the deciding factor for the wood on my truck. I used 5/4 X 4 oak wood and finished it with stain and satin marine polyurethane.

    My New toy

Lookin good! Keep plugging along. Seems the last few months on mine were the longest.

    Back from the paint shop

Looks great. I am guessing a lot of filling and hand sanding to get a nice gloss paint finish like that. Sweet!

    Usmc yellow

Can't help you with that one. I got my USMC semi gloss forest green from RAPCO. I used Martin Senour medium fast CR232 enamel reducer from NAPA to thin it with for spraying using a DeVilbis Finish Line HVLP gun at 50 psi at the (single stage) regulator on the compressor. I think I used a 4 to...

Landed my first M37 in Aberdeen

Start it up and get the engine up to operating temp. Touch a small candle to the studs, the wax will wick into the threads and act as a lubricant. If the engine was put together with the proper OEM manifold nuts, washers and studs they should come off pretty easy. The exhaust pipe nuts may...

    Dodge 230 Broken Piston

I would say you are quite lucky. Most times when the skirt fails it is quickly followed by a catastrophic failure quickly followed by silence. I only saw one that stayed together in my mechanic days. Was it making any noise? I would be interested in seeing the TB on the added lube holes.

    M37 fuel tank.........a thought

My tank was solid but had some internal rust. I took it to a local radiator shop that works with a lot of vintage car guys. he coated the inside with a product that is approved for aircraft use and coated the outside with a black rubberized sort of material. I think it was about $250.00 with...

    Oil Pan Leak

Okay gentleman no more leaks so thanks for your help and suggestions. So here is the out come of all this work and I thought I would share what I learned. Also thanks to John at Midwest Military for his input and help. As I said in the original post my filler plate was distorted and I refaced...

    Oil Pan Leak

Can anyone tell me the proper placement position for the little round rubber seals that go between the front oil pan seal filler plate and the block? Seems that may be part of my issue. Cannot find any info in the TM's on these little buggers.

    Oil Pan Leak

Used a new hub, no leaks from the seal area. Oil slinger is in place. Seems the old hard NOS are the areas where I am getting leaks.
