GA to OK in BFR's/Papabear's/Patracy's Deuce.

I would run I-40 to Memphis, Memphis to Birmingham and I-20 to Ga. Maybe some folks on this route will PM you their contact info so you will have backup along the route. If you can borrow a tow bar to take with you that could be a lifesaver and save you a big tow bill if you broke down...

Official '15 Ga. Rally Info thread

I deeply resemble that remark.:wreckerman893: If you had to put up with :gimp2:, :clinto:,:doghead:,:swbradley1:,:patracy:,:recovry4x4:,:73m819:and :papabear: you'd bray like a jacka$$ too.

Well my fine MV friends....needed help with lug nut issue on my 5 ton super singles

Go to a tire center that has a one inch air gun. Your back will thank you and the neighbors won't know your catalog of profanity.

    Offloading Tracked Vehicles

I have "combat offloaded" dozers before and there is always a pucker factor when that dozer stands almost straight up. In my opinion that was the only way that one could have been offloaded without the result we saw. Someone did not think that operation through.

    My First Deuce :D

Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Academy.:cookoo: The only thing that lies more consistently than a career politician is a military vehicle fuel gauge. Get yourself a paint stirring stick and use it to dip the tank with. When it gets below a quarter of a tank find a fuel stop.

Advice on purchasing a 5 ton

I replaced the transfer case in an M925 only to discover that the noise was actually coming from the front differential. Noises are hard to pinpoint sometimes.

    pipeline truck value ?

The pat answer is that it is worth what an interested party is willing to pay for it. When I was looking for my first deuce I let a pipeline truck that was selling locally go because it had some rust issues. I told David Doyle about it and he bought it. As far as I know it is still in his...

few Qs recovered M813? or M54? Pics

Other than being notoriously underpowered they are as good as an 800 series 5 ton. I had the tractor version and cussed it all the way back from FL when I used it to retrieve a trailer at Eglin AFB. If all else fails Memphis Equipment will prob have most of the parts you need to repair the...

Gadsden, AL to Miami area leaving 7/26/15 returning 7/31/15

The Boss Lady will be headed to Davie, FL area Sunday the 26th pulling a horse trailer with her dually. On the way down there will be room in the rear for some freight. It will have to be manageable in size and impervious to horse droppings and urine. She may be dropping the horse trailer in...

Need Deuce Mechanic in NW Missouri -- Fair Pay Scale

If he is doing this as a favor and not to make a living I'd offer him ten bucks an hour and you pay for all needed items (to include frosty beverages to increase morale). If he has worked on military vehicles before he is prob familiar with TM's and can muddle through them. If you take it to a...

General Question(s) Regarding Auctions for 5-Ton

Price is driven by supply and demand. A few years ago I was buying deuces for 1000 bucks and driving them home. That was when the government was flooding the system with them to get them out of the inventory. They are now doing that with the 900 series 5 tons and other trucks. I saw HETT's...

Tucson to Ft Bliss to OKC to Ft Riley to St Louis, and back.

Used to pass through Texas Canyon twice a week when I ran West Coast years ago. I hear I-10 is dorked up due to a flash flood. Ya got to hate that.

    Expandabile Van Drivability

Not only does it have a longer wheelbase the frame is reinforced in the center which adds a lot of weight but gives it a lot more strength. The M927, M928, M934 and the M936 wrecker all have the double frame. I put a shorter bed on my M927A2 and put a 5th wheel behind the bed so I could pull my...

    Ray and Ray’s next Adventure

Those are great trailers. I have three in the yard and one parked at the office (sold to Wheelspinner). I'd buy more but they are getting scarce locally.
