    M47 Dump Project Is Home

Make sure you wear a hood and respirator too. You do not want to get silica into your lungs. Like breathing broken glass.

    Just Bought a wrecker!

Check with CSMDavis before you fab anything. He may have spare parts. He is close to Camp Shelby, MS where they used to rebuild those wreckers.

    Just Bought a wrecker!

Check the hydraulic hoses before you fill that large tank. And be prepared to take out a loan to do all of them. On my M816 money pit the estimate to do all the hoses was north of 2K. They are a real bit*h kitty to change out inside the control cab. If I remember correctly there is no access...

    Deuce towing capability

It will pull it but it won't like it if you are going to be on anything but flat terrain. Make sure you have the brake hoses hooked up correctly. One problem with pulling one of those with a vehicle that is not equipped with a hand valve is that you can't use the trailer brakes separately...

    M923a2 and a M105A2 trailer

If you will notice on the trucks with super singles the pintal hitch sits lower than on the ones that came stock with the 1100 tires. I think there was a modification when they rebuilt the A1's into the A2's. On the older trucks the hitch went through the rear crossmember, on the newer ones it...

improving turning radius with winch for rear axle?

The rear suspension is a "walking beam" type that pivots on the center to allow the axles to adjust to the terrain. Defeating this operation will cause you nothing but grief. If you want to improve the turning radius I think there is some adjustment on the front axle. I have two M927's in the...

I was in TX But they let me go.

If I owned Hades and Texas I'd live in Hades and rent Texas out.

    816 Crane hydraulic lines

You might check into having them made locally. When I had the M816 money pit I replaced two big hoses and only had to sell one kidney.

Sanford Fl. to Robins AFB Ga.

Somebody needs to buy my M275. It was made to pull those van trailers.

humvee ac kit in the 915a1

Reb87 I hope you have changed out that original M915 seat. Makes my back ache just looking at it. I put air rides out of a scrapped out Freightliner cab in the last M915 I had and they rode like a dream.

    New Truck Now What

You have to replace the front sheet metal with the metal off of an 800 series.

    New Truck Now What

The 5 ton multi-fuel was a gutless wonder. I had the tractor version and it wouldn't pull a greasy string out of a fat cat's arse. The LDS multi-fuel is a good transplant for a deuce.

One for you 1070 guys, NEVER give up!

We had that same slick red clay at Fort Benning. Once those tires load up you have racing slicks.

    M931a2 Fuel cutoff solenoid

You may have to open the bleeder nut (7/16ths) on the back of the Injector Pump and use the primer pump to get fuel up to the IP. The fuel solenoid is a very common problem on the A2.

Upcoming road trip: Ft. Riley, KS to Florida Keys

Interstate 22 runs from Memphis to Birmingham but I know it's not complete at Birmingham. There are plenty of services along the southern route.

Upcoming road trip: Ft. Riley, KS to Florida Keys

If you want some advice from a former long haul trucker I would take the southern most route you have marked on that map. You will hit a lot less mountains. If you make it on that time line you are one tough hombre. If it has the 250 Cummins in it make sure you have hearing protection.

    M932A2 and Mk-48 Cab conversion

Yep...it gets pretty miserable here in the summer. I spent some time at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, CA. It's not in **** but you can see it from there.

Upcoming road trip: Ft. Riley, KS to Florida Keys

Ditto.....we have a member that lives close to Riley. He has made recoveries before and I think he works for the local scrap company. His name is Glen and he is good folks. I can't remember his screen name. If you can get hold of him he can prob recover the vehicle and prep it for you for a...
