The air cleaners are very restrictive on these vehicles. There are several threads on modifying them. Opening up the exhaust can help also.

If you remove them make sure you replace all the bolts since they help hold the cross member in place.

When I was reverse engineering the M927 a while back I was using the "blue flame speed wrench" to cut things off the truck. I had to crawl under the truck several times to cut out some plumbing and each time I came out at a certain place I would whack my head......four times in less that 30...

Bear in mind the fuel shut off solinoid on on the engine can de-energize and cause a no fuel situation. Sometimes when you keep cranking on it it will re-energize and the truck will start....sometimes you have to manually reset it and either zip tie it oopen or have Soldier B crank the truck...

And tie down points when air/rail/trailer loading.

Years ago I had a Ford F-250 with bumpers made from six inch pipes. The front bumper was a giant air tank and the rear held a 50/50 mix of water and anti-freeze. Just my twin coppers worth.

Just don't make it so air tight that you wake up dead. :shock:
