    Antisipation of GL Auction Items

Welcome to the site! Don't mind Westech, he's always cranky with the new guys. Items coming up for bid hit the site a few weeks to a few months before the auction starts. Other than having a real good source on the inside there is no way to find out (that I have found) what's coming up next...

5 ton Bogies under a deuce

So what are you on the hook for if you use deuce axles and 5 ton springs? Just curious. If those monster tires MUST be installed on a deuce, I like this idea the best so far. Seems better than cutting and lengthening dog bones. Parts would be fair easy to get - find someone bobbing a 5 ton.

    Lockers??

So any advice as to what to put in the front axle? I ASSuMEd that I could run a Detroit, OEM or Yukon as long as the hubs were unlocked on the street and I was careful off road. Others have told me that an air locker is best up front. Thoughts? What I was thinking so far would be locking...

    Lockers??

Good on you man, but I would have just pulled that bed off. Me and soldier b pulled the bed off of a M105 just to upgrade to the more modern braking system. Did it with a single hi lift jack and some saw horses.

We don't pay for shop time. We turn our own wrenches. :driver:

    Lockers??

If he can do that at 6, you won't even be needed when he is 10. By 14 he will be figuring out stuff for you.

    Lockers??

Good suggestion, but........ Soldier B doesn't learn much that way and doing it in the garage allows us to piece it together on a budget - even if the final cost is higher than buying a fresh one. Hundy has VERY fair prices on used axles. And at the very end (if we ever get to the end) I...

    Lockers??

The front hubs are coming first. They will get me the most BANG for my buck, considering this is mainly a street driven truck. I've also toyed with the idea of buying a spare rear axle from Hundy (he seems to have a lot of them for some reason) and completely going through it before adding a...

Does Gl charge before the EUC comes back?

I'm pretty sure they charged my CC before they even sent an email telling me I won. I know it was pretty close.

    Lockers??

This is pretty much my plan, just one piece at a time. Hubs, then lockers. I'll install the lockers in the order that I think will give the biggest benefit 1st.

Winch install - long bolts necessary?

Bolts are easy to get - measure and go to a good hardware store.

    Lockers??

I know it's pricey but I can do it one piece at a time.

Locking hub on front and REAR of Bobbed Deuce

I'm putting a locking hub on the rear of my deuce, but I still have all my axles. :)

Winch install - long bolts necessary?

Some engineer thought they were good for clamping the frame extentions together.
