DAAAAAA frame man. Not much of a frame, They call mine a ton and a quarter, shelter carrier and the frame is the same as a 1008 from what I see side by side.
I had to strengthen mine by adding a front and rear reese hitch and bolt and weld a 4"x1/2" tube from side to side as a sub structure...
6.2 on wmo...?
I guess I was diesel green at some point in my life.
dmilkman589 Check this out.
The same engine is in a M-1008, M-1009 and a M-1028.
A GM Diesel 6.2 is a diesel engine, not a multi-fuel. I fill up with diesel and 1 quart of 20/50 MO to help lube the fp. This engine is...
Mine has a 6"
I picked up my 1028 with a 6" lift installed before I got it. The truck runs on 37" tires with room to spare front and back. I believe the frames are the same. Just my 2 cents
Just saw this picture and spewed coffee all over.
I know this is all said in fun but I need to get my eyes checked now and a shrink to get this picture out of my head. I saw this and spewed coffee all over my desk.
Thanks again Papabear for another good laugh.
I missed the reception 2 weeks ago. I have been busy. I am going to drop off BobH on Saturday 10am, then off to Andy's in the UP. I just saw online they got 2' of snow. This will be a fun Saturday. I like to drive snow.
Fuel mixing
Hey MKT Mike, I am amazed at all the new fuel sources coming to my local pumps. I agree with you and would not run 100% E-85. Just concerned if it would hurt the engine. I keep reading the nomenclature plate which states a list of fuels and no problem mixing any of them...
Its official, I have dragged around a tractor back hoe on bio diesel for the past 3 days. I pull the same trailer and back hoe around all the time on regular diesel and I am guesstimating a 10-15% loss of power. Especially up the same grades I drive all the time. I also do not like the weird...
Thanks Gimp,
It is 80% alcohol, I always add motor oil anyways so the lubricating properties should be there. Just thought I would throw it out there..
As read in the TM for a multi-fuel and all the fuels acceptable for the engine there was no mention of alcohol/ flex fuel as an approved fuel. I had a mishap a few months ago with a 6.2 and flex-fuel. I drained that out and there has been no problems since. The Flex-fuel around here is $1.28...
I was in Ann Arbor, Michigan all day Tuesday and needed to get fuel and the only fuel around was Bio-Diesel. The price was the same but I was skeptical of the stuff. I filled up a M-1028 which has a 6.2. The exhaust smells funny and I felt I did not have the normal power as usual. Has there been...
Thats a good ideia, I like the baffel system. This way you keep the origional exchaust system. I am going to go that rout first. I think this baffel can be used on other applications as well.
