    M109 box removal

It looks like unless a better idea pops up overnight, I will drop it on the ground next to my garage and use it for quad storage. I will be able to part the windows since I can neatly replace them with plywood or metal sheeting. The best part is, once its up and functioning as a water tight...

If I get a deuce how broke will I be?

With all the per diem your pulling in shipmate, it shouldn't be a problem.................................:)

    M109 box removal

Ok, I have sorced a SOCAL M35 bed. Now I need to decide if I should: 1. Drop it in the back as a shed (the chatroom favorite) 2. Trade it or sell it for parts 3. Part it then unload it at the scrap yard

    M109 box removal

How hard is it gonna hit the deck? Will windows shatter?

    M109 box removal

The TM doesn't say much about getting off with homeowner tools. I read the TMs about disconnecting everything. I'm interested in how to "git er done" without getting hurt.

    M109 box removal

Rusty roof M109 box, yes. Everything else looks good - two or three new windows even. My plan is to drop on site for quad storage (and tar/seal the roof) or get rid of it. There are lots of good box parts on it, so I didn't want to just dump it at a scrap yard, but I'm not motovated enough to...

    M109 box removal

Yes I searched. I did not find. I have no forklift, crane, wrecker, etc. I need to drop it into a tight spot. Can it be slid off somehow? Any suggestions? Anyone in SOCAL wanna swap for a M35 bed?

    Springtime Scrapyarding in Fontana

So there's just a bunch of private trucks and we ask about each part before we pull?

    My 1st MOD

Well, as it happens, I wanted to use the 8 ball that I had for years in my 72 Blazer on the transfer case. My wife was a Machinary Repairman and drilled/tapped it for me back when we were at NAS Lemoore. I tried it on the M109 and it was too big so I decided to make it work by drilling it out...

Man, I need to get in on this. I love tacos, love wrecking yards, need deuce parts. How are the prices?

    WTF!? Freeze plugs popping out.

I agree. I've built a few engines in my time and repaired many Navy engines and have never used sealer on the freeze plugs.

    My 1st MOD

Drilling an 8 ball isn't as scary as drilling a hand grenade.

    Built me a towbar

I like that idea. I doubt I would ever be hooking up solo. Maybe, but I doubt it.

Not as exciting as some of the others I guess. :)

    Building Roll Cage for CUCV

I'm all for safety, but I've never liked the roll bar "look" in a Blazer. I had a 72 Gumby Green Blazer that we used to run around Kauai with the top off 9 months out of the year. Those were the ones where you were really TOPLESS, not halfway like the newer ones (they switched in 74/75 I...

    GPS in a deuce

Garmin makes good stuff. Tom Tom will get you lost quick. Screen size is always - the biggest your wallet can handle.
